I never thought the day would come, but this is the first scenario where the emo people aren't the tools.
That looks so wrong.

i hope all emos die.
edit:
oh yeah also most of community who like anime here are emos, thanks to that we normal otakus get stereotyped
LOLFirst, by some accounts, the emo subculture is identified with homosexuality in Mexico. As Mexico City youth worker Victor Mendoza told Time.com: "At the core of this is the homophobic issue. The other arguments are just window dressing for that."
Gustavo Arellano, the author of Ask a Mexican and an editor at OC Weekly, said that the sexual ambiguities cultivated by emo fashion helped set the group up for targeting by more macho groups.
"What do you do when you are confronted with a question mark about sexuality in Mexico?" Arellano said. "You beat it up."

otaku has a bad stigma in Japan, did you know that? I wouldnt go around proudly proclaiming to be an otaku (and I don't consider myself one) anyway.
So what's the difference between an "otaku" and a "wapanese" besides the colour (too lazy to google it)? I mean when I was living in Mexico (18 years ago) I used to watch Dragon Ballz, Mazinger Z, Caballeros de el Zodiaco, etc. but I don't know if it's bigger now days; to such extent that now they have "otakus" over there. Shit, I thought those toons were Mexican >_>Originally Posted by Kayu
Anyways, back in the days they were really stern with them homosexuals. I remember this hair stylist who was called "El Sida," which means AIDS and of course, they thought he had it...
There's a Kuya and a Kayu?
normal otaku yup i love anime i just do go outside yelling it......yes of course i have my bag with a damn anime cat on it thats about it, i consider myself a lover of japanese animation even if it has a bad stigma or bad reputation place they should be gratefull i love their damn cartoons, of course i hate people who lick the ass of japanese culture i only like the cartoons thats all and maybe the food yeah sushi is damn good(just like italian food etc etc etc) i mean how could i live without those insta ramens when i only have 2 usd to eat XD, so i consider myself an otaku i love anime, and i dont go around saying i am one(but this is a forum + my sig totally tells it) and i hate people who cant be themselfs and they try to be japanese.Originally Posted by aers
otaku for me at least is someone who just enjoys the shows so much that it makes it part of his rutine, just like someone does with tv and newspaper or even smoking, wapanese maybe is some idiot trying to imitate japanese culture? i mean i know a lot and i hate them..they get make up like japanese, they try to imitate the darknish skin like japanese they try to dress like lolitas they use japanese expression like "nani" "ie" etc etc to an extent that pisses you off greatlySo what's the difference between an "otaku" and a "wapanese" besides the colour (too lazy to google it)? same shit you said just with more stereotypes lets say that a person who likes anime like 80% of them are emos, also those old days where when the dubs where actually GOOD nowdays you get a damn porn actor to make the voice of a character and its pretty off oh i miss those old days when sailor moon, magic rayeart, dragon ballz saint seiya where good.
even otaku has a different meaning on japanese than it means to us XD we just gave it a definition just like we did to many words.
Otaku holds more the meaning of like, obsessed fan. It's not just watching anime (or whatever), it's going all out for it. The Star Wars fanboy first in line for Episode III, camping out for two weeks, dressed as a Stormtrooper. That's an otaku, just for something other than anime.
Wapanese is more a worshiping/idealizing of Japanese culture. Lotta times it's due to anime, but it's not specifically about anime. They guy that eats/sleeps/breathes Japan, and wants to move there...may just qualify. Kids acting in a "Japanese" way most likely defined by anime, calling their friends -chans or whatever, declaring Pocky the food of the gods...yeah...
Once again mexicans are doing the job that americans are too lazy to do.

I almost posted this time article earlier, there's a youtube vid it links to of three emos getting absolutely pasted against a wall by a gang of kids that looks to be well over 100.
And yeah, my first thought was "Mexicans have emos?" too.
