Sargeant Major Rank up race.. 0/15

Is there any kind of trick to the race portion of this rank up quest? I repeatedly spam the person who is lagging behind, but they just seem to keep falling further back. The attempt I just failed, I clicked 4 times in a row, only to watch them go from slightly behind to completely off my screen.

Some LS mates said lag can mess it up... should I wait for a beseiged or something, so whitegate isn't quite as crowded?

Any tips would be appreciated.

I went 1/4 on it i think, and the time i won it, was the time i used the whistle the least, I used it I think once on 1 of them, twice on another, and 0 times on the third, I used the whistle when they were just starting to fall behind, instead of when they got further back, useing the whilstle more seemed to make them slow down, and usein it when they were too far back seemed to tire them or something. I found it easier than situps(although, thats quite easy when you get the hang of it) but harder than press ups(I did that w/o paying attention, lol).

From what I remember of this segment. Too much can be a bad thing. You have to offer the right encouragement at the right time. Too much/too little or too early/too late make the situation worse.

it's the same deal as the situps - if you're getting the whistle after you click their name, you're doing it right. if you're not, you're not. And I did Elph's during a besieged and it was a bit easier, but I always lag in whitegate, so.

best of luck - for me it was the easiest one, but I can see how it'd be difficult.

This was really helpful- I used sound for the sit-up one, but went back to no music/sound effects on in game after that, as there was no mention of noises on the bg-wiki page for that part. I failed one more time after listening to the whistles, but was able to pass it on the 2nd run with sound.

Yeah, knowing the difference between the 'you done good' whistle and the 'you done f'd up' whistle help a ton in getting the timings down.

If you force d/c on the situps one after your 2nd or 3rd mistake, whichever makes you lose, you can retry right away instead of waiting a game day. I had to do this 7 times in a row >.>

racing is much better than sit up one. I got my sit-up 1/3 and racing 1/1

You need a good reaction to switch the cursor between 3 options. I usually place my cursor on the middle runner. So once I notice someone is slacking (the change in speed can be drastic sometimes), I could just do it in 1 or 2 key press(es)

didn't work for me a couple weeks ago.

it worked for me like a month or 2 ago, if i made 2 mistakes before doing #10(i assume it wouldnt work if you do it after the last one) i would dc myself, talk to her and try again

edit: maybe ninjad by SE in one of the various updates?
