I'm looking at either 155 or 145. I can easily make 145, however, I'm actually trying to gain some weight so I can fight at 155, since more organizations have that weight class. At the moment, I'd only have to drop a couple of pounds to make 155, or not even cut at all on certain days. I'm extremely lean with an incredible metabolism, so it takes a lot to retain weight with me. I'm 5'9" though, so I've got a decent amount of strength.Originally Posted by Remyo
Thanks for the reply Noble. How much time a week does that take, roughly? 20-30 hours? At the moment, I only train Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday at my gym. Mon/Wed/Thurs is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (I'm not too bad, I went 1-1 at a tournament, only reason I lost was cause my first match absolutely killed me) and Isshinryu Karate (it's more like kick boxing, really, except we fight off of our lead legs, and we incorporate thai boxing with normal boxing). I do that from 6PM-9PM.
Sun/Sat is just a general MMA class where we do circuits, (I attempt to wrestle, though I've never done any of that before starting this, so I'm not that great with takedowns), work the clinches, ground sparring, hands only sparring, everything sparring, just standup, and basically everything you can think of, I think. Those last for 3 hours as well. We might be starting doing MMA on Tuesdays as well (I hope).
I also lift weights 3 times a week with sessions only lasting about an hour, working on upper body only (I work my lower body without weights to keep my flexibility). Right now, the weather is too shitty to go out a run, but as soon as I can I'll try to get outside every morning and do some sort of running, whether it be a light jog or a hard run.
Obviously right now my workout routine isn't suited for an upcoming fight, but if I am going to be scheduled a fight, I'd probably have to double my intensity. What do you think of this, Noble?
