Well from the info VZX gave and the gear info you gave it should have been 1236 instead of 1232 for a double weather proc so I don't know what's up but otherwise yeah.

    Re: Citadel Buster

SCH storm spells cancel the current weather in addition to granting the type you specify. So adding Voidstorm would not only give you the -10% damage chance, but would negate the chance of the +20% Light Weather Proc.

Also, I'm pretty sure if you went on Darksday with a SCH, then had your tank wear Anrin Obi, you would get a 100% proc on both day and weather and get a -20% damage. You can easily get under 1000 damage doing this. Also, since you have a SCH for this, Accession Stoneskin gives another free 350HP.

Not too sure about the obi part, but would be easy to find out if someone has a wind obi.

    So, let me see if I understand the defensive weather spell application here;

Let's say I'm fighting Tiamat, and it's Earthsday with no weather in the Chasm. If I were to put Rainstorm on my tank, Tiamat would receive the "penalty" on all his fire-based attacks?

I believe it works like this, although I've never used a weather spell to get the -10% damage proc.

What I have done is used weather spells to remove the current weather though. This I know 100% works. First time I tried this was in the Alexander BC. It's constant Light Weather and he spams that annoying AoE magic damage move over and over. To prevent the +10% damage proc, I Voidstorm'd the tanks. He never received any nasty hits, although I can't remember if he got a -10% proc or not.

For Ultima's CB, I do know that if you Voidstormed the CB target, at the very least you would negate the chance of +20% damage from weather; all weather spells negate the current weather on the target. I'm pretty sure you'd have a chance at the -10% damage proc. The Obi thing I'd have to test.

Something is bothering me. Ramuhnoob are you absolutely certain it was 1232 and not 1236?

It's possible it was 1236, maybe he read it wrong or had a typo, as I said I always hve damage filters on so I'm just going off what he told me.

**Edit More testing on SCH storm spells please! Very interesting stuff :D

    Re: Citadel Buster

I'd think the day/weather bonus would be applied to the caster, not the target. Otherwise it would be impossible to ignore negative weather effects. If you were to cast a Thunderstorm'd T4 with Earth weather, you'd see the Thunder weather bonus but not the Earth weather negation. If the target's weather were taken into account, there'd still be a chance of seeing an Earth weather proc on your spell.

I'll try to verify whether it works or not. What's the easiest normal mob you can test this on (something that does a magic damage move a lot in the presence of zone weather)?

Hecteyes in Pso'Xja. Bottom floor of the Uggy Pendent area.

Edit: Perhaps better alternative any bones caster in Xarc.

Prime would work perfectly but as a SCH I think you'd need a RDM or something to help you out.

6 original avatars aren't exactly hard, I wouldn't really call them a "normal mob" however. And I think they have permanent weather favorable to them in their zones? Just get you and a tank and I'm sure you can get plenty of testing in.

    Re: Citadel Buster

Because this hasn't been explained, here's how weather works. Basically, it's 10% chance of a 10% damage+accuracy boost per weather/day icon involved.

    So for Ultima on lightsday:
10% chance the day boosts the damage/acc by 10%.
    then
10% chance first weather icon does the same
    then
    10% chance second does it.

So the chances even on lightsday of ending up with 30% boost are 1/1000. Chances are 3/10 though of having any 1 boost kicking in.

And I've never bothered with nitpicking whether the 10% boosts are multiplicative but they probably would be. That would make it a 33.1% boost instead of 30, but not 35. For that 1000th time you get hit by it that all 3 proc.

    Re: Citadel Buster

Day is 10% bonus, single weather 10%, double weather 25%, all three makes for 35%.

Regarding prime avatars, they are a bad choice to test it on as their spells are TP moves, and damage is affected by TP. Worms in QC are probably the best option.

You're gonna have to back up that 25% claim. Never heard of it. Each icon is 10%.

Edit: Aside from that your claim of 25% for "double weather" doesn't give the possibility of one weather icon proc but not the other, and that's easy to show that each can proc individually. Double light weather on any non-light day and you will get 10% cure procs.

It is definitely 25%. I've backed up this claim before and I'd do it again if I wasn't halfway out the door, so you can search around or go test it yourself or maybe someone else will pick up the slack. Can search for posts by myself containing "double weather" on these forums or else check the talk page of the magic damage page on the old wiki.

Also I'd estimate that day/weather procs with much greater frequency than 10%, it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 1/4~1/3 of the time, but I've never sat down and nuked something enough to get a statistical sample.

    Re: Citadel Buster

I'm talking about the boost to damage only, not the chance of it happening, which I won't say anything about. http://www.bg-wiki.com/Magic_Damage if it helps.
Day of the Week | Weather
Day | Weather is calculated as:
    1.0
    +0.1 for the correct day
    +0.05 for Sorcerer's Tonban
    +0.1 for single weather
    +0.25 for double weather
This term is capped at 1.35, even in the presence of day, double weather, and Sorcerer's Tonban.
