I'll try to verify whether it works or not. What's the easiest normal mob you can test this on (something that does a magic damage move a lot in the presence of zone weather)?

Couldn't you do it on Summoner Avatar fights? I am pretty sure they are fairly static and it is always double weather effect there.

Why not just test it with Light Obi and Cures?

No, I've been using my +hp on my ears for P-U (Cassie and Morukaka's). I guess we probably need to throw out this sample set and I'll try to be more exact on our next run. I wish I could remember how much Garuda took on the same CB, in case that would prove useful. I think it was something like 2204, but I didn't write it down.

Damage = (85+2)*6.00*(4.00/1.00) = 2088

Me with 1/2 resist , last second saline coat (MDB+50) and MDB trait (+10)
652 = ((85+2)*6.00*(4.00/(1.00+0.50+0.10))*1/2

What kind of gear and spell set up would one need to tank a CB? I'd like to try this cause someone always manages to die on our group.

I priced out some gear and for 33% magic damage - it would be about 1.4 mil on my server... So i'd like to only spend what I'd have to to survive.

You only need -25%, shell V is -25%, and the cap is -50%, use mdb after -25%
