I love how they put "This auction does not violate eBay's policies.", like if they say it and REALLY BELIEVE, that eBay's policies will change just for them. It doesn't matter in the slightest whether you're selling the "story", the "time and effort" or an index card that happens to have the login info on it, eBay's policies are very clear that you can't sell non-transferable contracts, which is precisely what the right to play a character is. It's the same as selling an OEM Windows CD key, you're selling something that you don't have a contractual right to sell, regardless of how you word it or try to sneak around.
