Nvidia's april fools joke?
http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/516/
I die a little inside whenever I look at the new 9800gtx reviews and I hope to myself that it's just a cruel joke. When the 9600 came out and how it compared quite fantastically to the 8800gt I thought for sure we'd see something amazing when the gtx came out....Oh well...
Summary: 8800gtx still performs better in larger resolutions with current drivers

Re: Nvidia's april fools joke?
there's a 9900 series as well planned for july, and no the 9800's are not a joke, well in a "lol we got you to upgrade for nearly no reason" sort of way
the 9800's are a upgrade if you own a 8800gtx since they clock significantly higher but they aren't a ground breaking redesign

Re: Nvidia's april fools joke?
Not a joke...........
This may give the lead to AMD when the Radeon 4000 series is released.... unless of course AMD has another case like the 2000 series

Re: Nvidia's april fools joke?
They don't need to develop new and better stuff when there's a lack of competition. If you read the second page of the review, it tells you everything. It's basicly the same core with a few extras who's main goal is to be cheaper. And they label it as a new series (9x00) so people think it's something better.
