Return of Extreme Breath Challenge! (Name was wrong before)

I would have put this in advanced, but it is not exactly an advanced topic and it is heavy on screenshots, if a mod thinks that the thread is good/worthy enough please feel free to move it so there are more views (and lulz).

Tonight my LS decided to revive a timeless tradition which many of you veteran BGers probably remember seeing or participating in yourselves. Competing for the highest damage. On Nidhogg's Dragon Breath. Whoever takes the most damage wins.

Before I get to the actual screenshots, I'll give a short background on what went down. The linkshell ChocoboGordoLS claimed, there was a random for Nid, my LS lost, however we didn't want to leave empty handed so set out to make some memories. Shenanigans like this are typically unseen on Ragnarok, and my LS has always tried to be courteous and respect the rules, as well as other linkshells (this isn't a drama thread, sorry), so I made sure it was ok with CG(it can cause some lag or mess people up from laughing):

NOTE: This is here mainly so that if our LS leader, Kainomega, sees it he won't get TOO mad.

This unfortunately isn't as fun, because people can survive, or worse -- cheat. Side-stepping moving in etc, takes a bit of fun out of it, but it is a good way to mix it up. There's never an argument over who took the most damage.

Thats the point of the low damage one though :Q Whoever lives the longest.
Not sure how you would cheat though. You can use gear/ja to minimize damage, and obviously if you move out of range, and dont take any damage you get disqualified (evades are fine though).

i heard that Laquincain used to be notorious for eating dragon breath waaaaaay back in AkuAdvanced days.

for more fun. next time EC claims a fafnir/nidhogg, have all your plds tank in front of it's mouth instead of it's feet. you all say fafhogg is too easy now anyway this will make it more challenging and it should be no problem if Angelfish attends as brd in the tank party. any deaths will just add a bit of challenge to the fight. hrotti and crimson body should help out a bit.

Somehow some CGF showed up in Aery one day and was told if you stand in front of Nidhogg's head you could get claim easy or somthing like that, needless to say the galka pld was 1-shotted. They never went back to Aery.

I think the max damage/min damage thing really doesn't qualify as that much of a challenge. Pile on a ton of -fire resist gear (or + if you're trying to get low damage) and you're set. Instead what me and a few mates did on Seraph during the phase of "how much damage can you take" was to hold a different competition. It was to see who could take the most damage AND LIVE. Couldn't just pile on -fire resist, had to moderate it with hp+ gear. I think the record ended up being 1800 something with 5ish hps left.

Wyrm breathed me for 1104 last night which I thought was a lot, but 1700 from Nidhogg blows mine out of the water. As a note, that was 1104 through my 110 barfira and fully merited shellra v. Pretty sure I didn't have stoneskin up, which probably wouldn't have saved me if it had been.

We have a Samurai who'll inadvertently do this while trying to get Overwhelm to work. Tarutaru as well, for extra death chances.

- fire res wont make you take more damage, just lower chance of resist, so jelly would be better.

Breath damage is based on HP, so the winner of the contest is always the person who gets hit first (due to Nidhogg's HP), assuming he doesn't have Shell or other MDB shit on. Not really that exciting since it's not random.

More fun to do it with Cerberus' Sulfurous Breath!

extreme flail challenge in nyzul is more fun Back when my set was still doing nyzul, we used to purposefully flail faf and behe, to see how much it would do and if we'd die. Turns out their flails are pretty weak and gimpy, and aren't too hard to live through, we only had a couple deaths in all our runs of flailing. Still, it's fun seeing flails in a non laggy situation though, where you can actually see the animation.

Just realized this is sorta necro, but it was only 7 posts down >.<
