Old Spice, original scent.
Preemptive fuck off to whoever it says it smells like old man.
I typically use old spice bodywash (or axe), and I use oldspice deordant. I think the aftershave I used to wear was also oldspice, but I'm not sure. It's been years since I actually shaved instead of just trimming. I never really tried their cologne though.
It smells like friggin Navy queers.Originally Posted by Korietsu
You nailed it. Axe is for those events where you wanna smell good but not put on the 'good stuff', something more formal - then you can put the axe down and wear the better stuff.Originally Posted by Woozie

If you're ok with spending money my top 3 in no particular order are
Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male
Issey Miyake L'eau D'issey
Or Burberry Brit
No, it blows. :]Originally Posted by ronin sparthos

And yes, axe is lame!
I find his stuff a little flowery and heavy on men. The same with Versace's line.Originally Posted by Seraphise
Unrelated: If you're going to wear Axe, for christ's sake, please don't. Use a nice, clean-smelling shower gel and deoderant if you don't want to wear a cologne. I can tell a guy wearing Axe from across a store with my eyes closed, and trust me, my eyes are usually closed because they're watering.
Axe scents are overpowering regardless of how little you put on, and I've yet to meet someone who could manage 'little'.
i use these 3 and and lacoste pour hommeOriginally Posted by Seraphise
QFT. i always wear brit and get compliments on it all the time, just bought London yesterday XD girlfriend likes that too. Armani has some good ones also. Escada and Chanel are some others i wear. but burberry is by far the bestOriginally Posted by Anyway

Lacoste Essential![]()
I don't wear Cologne anymore (wife is smell sensitive), but in college when I did...I went for the cheap stuff too. Aspen at Wal-Mart is a great clean woodsy smell and cost like $20 for the giant bottle.
Agreed on Gucci - Envy, been my favorite cologne for like 2 years now.Originally Posted by isladar
Also a huge fan of John Varvatos - Vintage, although plain old John Varvatos is really good.
In terms of what I like smelling on someone else my favorite would probably be Emporio Armani, but sometimes it smells bad on certain people, idk.
The trick with cologne shopping, as has been said, is putting a small amount on yourself and allowing your body heat to release the scent to its fullest potential. Most colognes have very different smells depending on who's wearing them, or at least this is what perfumiers will tell you, due to differences in body chemistry.
What is more helpful than anything is being able to (through experience at a natural food store that sells essential oils) identify exactly what it is in a cologne that you like and go from there. Most perfume counter employees at high-end department stores are very, very well trained and can find you say... a light smelling cologne that's not too citrusy with strong notes of sandalwood.
What I mean is, figuring out how to put what you like about a cologne into words can be extremely helpful in finding something that's perfect for you.
edit: in addition, don't try to test too many colognes at once (in a short period of time). Your nose gets overloaded and everything starts smelling the same, and you can get some nasty headaches/nausea. Most high-end stores will keep coffee beans around, sniffing them between tests will help to clear your scent pallate but ideally you shouldn't really be testing more than 5-10 perfumes in a single sitting, and 10 is pushing it.
If you use axe you might as well just spray air freshener all over yourself, it's about of the same quality.
edit: if anyone needs a body spray to over up their fowl smell they need to seriously consider taking a shower.
I just remember the fucking assholes in high school that would spray that shit all over the halls
I like Drakkar Noir and Grey Flannel on my man. That could be because just about everything else gives me a headache though.
Sex Panther thats the shit

lol
on a serious note I hate anything with high musk content .. hate!
the new gucci is nice and safari which is old like drakkar. (but i dont like drakkar)
See, that was the problem when I went shopping with my friend about a year ago. She want me to try out virtually everything they had at the store, to the point where it was making my eyes all watery, and I was coughing and got a headache. I didn't know about the coffee bean thing though. The main reason I like women around when I'm looking for fragrances is that they have a stronger and better sense of smell than men (and half the time I'm wearing cologne, the whole purpose is to impress women anywaysOriginally Posted by Atreides

Edit: How expensive is Burberry?
