Re: Hellboy II full trailer released

    new hellboy II news;

The New York comic con is in full swing right now and directors of both The Incredible Hulk, and Hellboy II were on hand to deliver some new, and cool, updates. First up, Guillermo del Toro and the cast of Hellboy II showed off a new three minute “sizzle reel” as well as revealing who will be voicing Johann Kraus, the character seen briefly in the trailer, and someone who must remain in a containment suit. It looks like it will be Family Guy creator and star Seth MacFarlane.

It was horrible yes, but Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer were worse.

I presume the only other movies you've seen in your life have been the Fast and the Furious sequels, and Ultra Violet. Or else, you're insane.

Re: Hellboy II full trailer released

Hellboy 2 looks really good, especially considering the budget was only 82~84 million (can't remember exactly what Del Toro said) and most of the other summer movies they're competing with have double and even triple that budget (dark knight's budget being in the 160+ mil mark)

Just sad that Del Toro had to cut the 10 foot bulldog that was licking his nuts in the background of one of the shots due to budget.

(Comic-con was awesome btw, his panel was the best.)

Ugh, don't even mention those movies. They were so bad. As soon as I walked out of the first one I wanted to go up to the guy who sold me the ticket and ask for my 2 hours back.

Hellboy II is looking good, the first one I was pretty impressed with. Not the best comic book movie ever but definitely one of the better ones. I really hope that the second one is better, they have a lot to work with and Del Toro is a genius.

Am I the only one who thinks the elf dudes look like Blood Elves?

    Yeah, probably.

Sorry I didn't like such an awesome piece o' garbage. Visually it was a great movie but I found the story to be cruel & every character unlikeable, especially the little girl. As far as Fast & Furious, never saw em & I did go see Ultraviolet but it was so profoundly awful, I walked out after 20 minutes.

Pan's Labyrinth was fucking awesome, and the art direction of this movie (Hellboy 2) was nothing short of fucking outstanding. The movie itself was "so-so" for me though.

Same, I was really turned off by all the "Lovey-Dovey" shit in the movie.

I really thought the plot was fine for what it was: A reason to have amazingly made characters and monsters show up. The love story was kinda lame, the elf chick was pretty lame, but the movie was pure enjoyment 90% of the time. The hellboy vs krauss scene was so freaking hilarious.

I laughed a few times, but the movie was incredibly mediocre. The only bright spot was the art direction. There were so many gaping inconsistencies and absurdities that I was actually frustrated. Some of the dialogue was flat out horrible too.

    Spoiler: show
Why didn't the king just destroy the crown when the truce was made? Why didn't they melt the crown when the elvaan chick brought it to them?

If you're going to ask that why not just ask
    Spoiler: show
Why not just repurpose the Golden Army to something other than war once the bloodshed became too great? You'd think they'd have other uses for machines which never get tired or die?

Sometimes you just have to take the background at face value. Abe getting drunk was much more hilarious than I was expecting. I honestly don't mind the kind of dumb story when I get to see some absolutely badass fights like Hellboy vs. Forest God or Krauss vs. Golden Army. The fights and the monsters are the meat & potatoes of the genre and Hellboy delivers.

That dude would be the angel of death. Anyone know what krauss actually said when he tried to said 'fuck you' to hellboy in the shower scene? Still can't make it out after seeing the show two times

The art direction and the fights were the best part about the movie, the dialog, on the other hand was just bad, and there was so much happening that got on my nerves. The point that really frustrated me was when the plant god was summoned:

    Spoiler: show
Why did he hesitate? The damn thing was trying to kill him and was tossing cars around like nobody's business, nowhere in the previous scenes was there any indication that he would have remorse for the thing, the bitch just said he was a plant god nothing more, she didn't say it was the only one of its kind until after Hellboy hesitated. And then the reaction of the people nearby was just plain retarded, there was hardly any indication that people hated him or anything, in fact it seemed like they liked him during the whole tooth fairy incident, and now all of a sudden they hate him and they think he hurt the baby for no fucking reason. What the fuck? The movie just felt slow to me due to all the unnecessary dialog that was badly executed; they're actions just seemed implausible.

As an aside, i know that some of us are all into this whole sacrifice the world for the one you love blah blah blah, but i don't quite think that sort of message is very noble. I do believe there are approximately 6 billion other humans on the planet who would very much like to keep existing regardless of your detriment.

    ugh
