Very Strange Display Problem

OS: Windows XP
Video Card: Radeon x1950 Series
Recent Changes: New Power Supply, New Monitor (19 to 24 inch)

Everything appears grey, and the text is unreadable. In game, item icons appear when I check people, but that's about it. I tried updating my video drivers, but the problem didn't go away. Here are some images of what I'm talking about.

In the control panel somewhere, uncheck or check "Support DXT texture formats".

Best to just reinstall video drivers and see if it fixes it. If not, you can change the DTX texture formats in Riva Tuner under the D3D section

FFXI uses DTX textures 1 to 3 I believe.

Im having a problem similar to this on my laptop(vista sadly), using intel 965chipset mobile express. It loads areas fine but textures on character models looks like this.

Im using the newest drivers, however it's what came with the laptop and i havent been able to find older versions on intels site to try

I have the exact same problem as you Anza. I'm just running FFXI off my laptop's on-board graphics card, any idea on how this can be fixed?
