    How-to guides...

So I use to be a pretty avid player of SSB and Melee but I am so horribly rusty from not playing those in years that I am back at the start.

So does anyone have any guides for some of the characters that are somewhat newbie friendly, I saw the video of the ice climbers insane chaingrabs you cant escape and I feel I want to make them my main as they seem strong while I am a little familiar with them.

So does anyone know any videos or sites other then this forum of course that have tips and tricks for ice climbers or showcasing the abilitys of the other classes so I can catch up and start being competitive online.

    Re: How-to guides...

Kirk has move timing and spacing guides to ike, who people will say is probably one of the easiest characters to pick up for free for alls (one on one is a whole other story with him but whatever). This and a pointed critique of my ike play pretty much changed me overnight with him so I'd say look into it if he interests you.

Paool has everything you need for diddy kong, basics and advanced tactics. He's a decently easy character to pick up and go with due to the low delay of all of his attacks. Solid character overall.

Most of the other stuff are combo videos. Drago has an absolutely sick marth, you can check a lot of his friends and matches for an idea of how to pick them up competitively. Dozer's (and Kamaji) nuts on snake and lucky makes sonic actually look incredible. Check out void for luigi ideas and Dark Musician is an amazing zelda with a decent video library (The guy I play with, Naks, is a rather damn good zelda too). The problem with combo vids though is that for the most part they don't account for people properly defending but even so theyre good for picking up on what to do if you see the proper openings.

I know there has been a link to the website that shows you how to unlock all the characters but is there a site that shows you how to unlock all the events, characters, and achievements too?

Also anyone know of any amazing ice climber videos?

Chu(IC) vs Some guy(Kirby) for Round 2 Gamestop Tourny

At 2:20 Chu just turns something on after the Kirby gets the heart. ChuDat is without a doubt the best IC in Melee, can't find any good recent Brawl footage though.

I've found some other videos now on youtube but you can really tell how the lack of wavedash affected his Climbers. Climbers are really in need of reworking without the wavedash to space themselves properly, but he still does an extremely good job.
    Chu(IC) vs Dav3(Falco)

This one's funny because you can see Chillin using the old lol get FAir'd strat with Marth and trying to L-cancel every time he lands. I wonder when that will go away ;p

My IC links are better. And Void is the IC pioneer for Brawl, because Chu likes Melee more than Brawl.

    Re: How-to guides...

There are no pit advanced techniques, what you see is what you get (VERY MUCH LIKE WOLF), learn to mindgame with him and cross people over. The only thing that might take practice is the small angle increases you get by hitting the opposite direction first (down then up if you want to make it slant upwards at a wide angle) then the direction you want.

lol ok? You linked some videos with instructions, I was just linking videos of some good Ice Climber play. Here's some more, but what's the use, yours are just so much better ;_; I could watch a video about how to do this and that all day, but gameplay footage is much more exciting to watch and gives you an idea of when to utilize the said combos.

Shhh. Shhh. They're better. Besides, he asked for tricks for Ice Climbers, and those videos are perfect for teaching the core of Ice Climbers techniques.

This is how you play Metaknight:

Tilt+B>B>B>... ad nauseum. Metaknight is like Marth x 1000, I swear. It's almost impossible to punish him unless the Metaknight you're playing is careless about spacing.

I don't hear much about Lucario, and he's definitely a favorite of mine. Anyone know of a video featuring some sick Lucario plays?

I haven't watched many Lucario videos personally, but perhaps these two would interest you:

Are counters discouraged in organized tournaments? It seems they're rarely used That... Or I suppose the high risk in being an easy target for a short window...
