Marduk Set best for which job?

I wouldn't wear the whole set on any of the jobs I could equip it on but I guess BRD would be the best fit.

The hands are pretty crappy compared to the rest I just probably wouldn't bother on any of my jobs. I have Nashira/relic/carby for SMN, AF+1 for BRD and Blessed/Cleric's for WHM.

If I had the jubbah for BRD (currently have AF+1) I'd wear it on WHM as I do my Cleric's Briault, just using Nobles for cures. As my Goliard progress is minimal (I have the shoes!) I'm not looking at that body or more to the point hat, yet. SMN I have YY robe and you can't have it back!

Head I'd use on SMN and BRD and possibly WHM until that fictional day where I get a goliard chapeau. I'd miss my haste from my Walmart on WHM though but everything else is far better.

Legs are nice for BRD, but it kinda depends on your other crap. I have AF+1 right now but don't have the sea cape. I might wear them on SMN but I'd more likely stick with af.

Feet - want for WHM to replace my Blessed +1, have goliard/rostrums/the NM lamia nails for BRD and have relic and af+1 for SMN.

So even though I could use the lot, wouldn't ever wear them as a set.

Marduk's Jubbah imo would be situational. It has a slight advantage over Kirin's Osode with +2 CHR, and also if you don't have a Dalmatica, having the Refresh bonus when you're wandering about is nice to have.

The pants are awesome, and outweigh Choral/Bard's Cannions with a heavy CHR and Wind Instrument bonus.

Tiara would be nice for a SMN macro.

Hands and Feet I see no use for, but some members in my linkshell have the hands....for what purpose, I've no clue. Choral Cuffs +1 give more CHR than Marduks does.

Overall, Marduk's isn't all that fantastic but the slight bonuses are welcome. 3/12 Imperial Wootz Ingots >> Marduk's Jubbah. :>

The legs and head are about the only pieces I see being useful for SMN, and even then only for Ward/Magical BPs; I suppose some people might say the feet too, but to be honest, for a macro piece, I find Nashira Crackows to fit the same bill for feet and be a hell of a lot less time consuming to obtain.

I prefer to keep on my Avatar ATK/ACC/BP- gear for Rages and Summoning Skill+ for Ward/Magical/Ele Siphon, that being said, I don't know that I'd go too far out of my way for either piece, because there's options with comparable summoning skill in every slot that are relatively easier to obtain.

Especially if you do Limbus and/or Dynamis on a regular basis.

If I had the full set on WHM I would consider using it. 21% Fastcast (Casting Bar) on everything with /SCH sub n light arts definetly be sweet. Currently I have 4 / 5 Marduck 35s with only the legs upgraded. The COST > Gain factor is definetly out of bounds tho.

4/5 Marduk for me and the piece I want the most won't drop for me /stabs 6F frog and Armored Chariot.

I mainly use the set on BRD. I idle, cast party buffs in the feet but switch to Goliard for Elegy etc and Sune-ate for Stoneskin. Legs I pretty much full time but switch to Bard Cannions +1 for stoneskin and if I need an mp set. Hands I idle in for the Regen, -Enmity etc and cast party songs, stoneskin in them but switch to AF+1 for Elegy etc. Body I love to death and full time it basically. Stoneskin, Party Songs, Elegy etc it does it all for BRD. Head I want so badly since Dynamis-Sandy has been a whore for 18 months now and won't give me a Roundlet (had -1 for 6months ;; ). I know this is all personal opinion but I actually find Tiara to be slightly better than Roundlet+1 stats wise just because of the way I set up my BRD.

For WHM, feet are awesome for pretty much everything, Cures, stoneskin the works. Legs, I don't use on WHM except as my cute town gear :D Hands I really like. They are only marginally worse than Blessed and for me who has massive inventory issues I dumped the Blessed on AH the second I got Marduk Hands. Had never had any complaints. Body I only use for Stoneskin since I have Cleric's, Blessed, Nobles and Goliard. Head I want for my WHM main healing piece since I really like the stats and its better what I am currently using.

For SMN, I am pretty sure I have macrod in things like hands, body, feet etc for cures, stoneskin and the Skill pieces for some BPs but haven't used my SMN in close to a yr now really since SMN is pretty lol now at end game events for us. I still think AF2 for SMN can't really be beaten (altho AF+1 feet are hawt).

Basically Marduk to me is a BRD set hands down with 2-3 pieces being very incredibly useful for WHM.

Marduk feet are in my Cure5/MND/Enfeeble macro, otherwise Pumps+1 for other casting stuff.

I always passed on Nashira turban before but I want one now since it's better than elite beret(+1), have no real desire for the tiara.

People have pretty much outlined the pros and cons of each of the individual pieces well enough and since the OP was asking about the full set I'll just state my opinion that the full set it not worth it for any one job.

I played around with using the set full time (on BRD) when I first got it and after a lot of trying out different gear combinations vs full marduk I concluded that there was no situation at all where I would use the full set.

The best use of full marduk on any job would be for the Fast Cast benefit. However, this benefit is really only useful for white magic spells since for songs you're better off with manteel/rostrums. If you are WHM, you'll be restricted even further in the use of the full set since you wouldn't want to use them for cures because if you're concerned about fast cast on cures you likely are already using cure clogs. This restricts you to using it for things like erase and na spells which have short casting times to begin with. If you are into micromanaging you can macro in full marduk for the fast cast benefit and then macro in haste gear for your recast. My personal opinion on this is that for these spells it's really unnecessary to do that. I cast spells like erase in a combination haste/fast cast gear set and it's extremely effective (wish more BRDs would do this). However a well geared BRD and an AH WHM both have better haste gear available than what you gain from full marduk so you actually lose in the area of recast by using full marduk.

However, it looks very cool. 8)

The main benefit of getting full marduk for any job is walking around Whitegate feeling cool that you have it.

I sub /SCH for almost everything and I wouldn't give up my Blessed hands for marduk at this point at all.

8% fast cast (full set bonus) doesn't mean a 16% reduction in cast time. The fast cast bonus is applied directly to the casting time. It's the recast that's halved. Example: RDM AF hat is 10% fast cast. This is a 10% bonus applied to fast cast and a 5% bounus to recast.

Also: Regarding Marduk hands: They are the best stoneskin hand armor for BRD but I wouldn't use them on WHM at all unless it was for something like trying to counteract a DoT you couldn't remove. (e.g. when doing that Mamool assault with the poison costumes and Long Armed Chariot)

Failwiki lists the Casting time reduction as 10% on the set and the recast as 5%, and 4% reduction and 2% recast on the body. I'll play around with it in a little bit when my wife wakes up and gets her feet. She hates it when I take the pieces out of the guy for her. <_< And this is 5/5 marduk so I'm not gonna take that away from her! lol.

Edit: I find it hard to believe that the "set bonus" is anything other than a variant of 5%, based on the other sets and their stats. That's why I'm willing to humour the other wiki until I try it out for myself.

Full set = 3 seconds off of a 60s recast.

I don't have seigan to test more accurately.

I believe SE doesn't round up? In which case it would be 10% on the full set. (Still less than manteel.)

Ok so I just went out and died <3 campaign.

Recast on 120s (weak) recast timer = 114.

It is 10% fast cast on the set.

I'd have to say my present default BRD gear is hotter than full marduk.. possible exception being that marduk hands look better than gages but the knowledge that they are white border makes them sexier.
