I cant remember who the previous Habs coaches have been, but i was wondering if they have to be able to speak French? Is that a prerequisite or just a bonus for Montreal coaches? i've seen some press conferences with Carbo and he gets asked questions in english and french and responds accordingly.

The big deal was that there's a pregame video they do, and Saku didn't present the team in French. He knows a lot of French, but isn't fluent. Like a lot of Europeans, they're shy about speaking a language they don't yet feel comfortable with. Saku is fluent in Finnish, Swedish, and English, however.

As far as Montreal captains, there have been plenty non-Francophone captains:
Saku Koivu, Kirk Muller, Mike Keane, etc...
As far as coaches go, they've had a long string of Francophone coaches. The last non was Pat Burns from 88-92.

Claude Julien (Boston's coach) was the one before, and he speaks french. Same for the previous 4-5 coaches. Last one who didnt speak french was Pat burns, 15 years ago, I think.

seriously, people are so quick to say the Flyers play dirty, but how about that knee to Umberger? did we bitch and moan about it?

I cant really comment since I missed that one. Was helping for Ouryu fight when it happened. However, I doubt it amount to the number of crosscheck from behind, charge and other stuff I've seen. It's always the impression I got from Flyers, and not just this year.

You sound like a Rangers fan right now. Good to see complaining about officiating and dirty play isn't just a New York thing. I'm not saying that to pick on you, I'm just stating a fact. When your team loses, everyone tries to find a scapegoat. Price needs to pick it up period. That's why Montreal is losing. You goalie is letting in soft goals left and right.

You can comment on how ugly the Flyers play. But the bottom line is they have managed to get inside Price's head. And that is essentially the end of the series unless Price can right himself.

I already said that. Price sucked bad time, and he pretty much gave the win to Flyers. There was some mistakes here and there from other players, but it's not what make you lose a game 13vs35 games. Either way, they didnt get inside price's head like you say, he was pretty bad against Boston too.
