i'm not sure how you can so easily disassociate penalties and dirty play. maybe you have a different take on what dirty means than i do? penalties are called for breaking the rules of the game and the majority of them are to protect the players from injury while the others are for impeding proper gameplay. so having the most penalties in the nhl, i can only assume that a large portion of them were called because the flyers were playing in such a way to endanger the health of their opponents or doing some shady stuff on the ice. that's not 'clean' play to me. certainly, there is a grey area between clean and dirty play, but can you honestly argue that the team with the most penalties is not pushing on the 'dirty' end of that spectrum? how is a fighting MAJOR not a bad penalty to take?Originally Posted by IncredibleGulk

Gulk are you fucking retarded?
Fighting is a major and usually a misconduct.
It is a BAD penalty to take.
Sedi, Im not "fucking retarded". Fighting is not a bad penalty to take. You dont get a misconduct and you arent shorthanded. are YOU retarded?
I guess you dont watch the flyers as much as i thought you did, but Cote doesnt take bad penalties and always squares off one on one. He doesnt play dirty.
Oh, i guess you didnt know this, but in order for a fighting major to be called, it has to be assessed to both players, i.e. NOT shorthanded. The only way you get shorthanded is for instigation. Thats a 2 min penalty. If you get 3 instigations, you get 3 game suspension. Not in one game either, throughout the year, they are cumulative. 3 fighting majors in one game, and you get a game misonduct.
Id touch up on your rules before you deem someone else stupid. Obviously, you didnt know these rules.
I know that when it is assessed as a major it goes to 2 players but it's a stupid penalty to take regardless.
In this particular series, a 4 on 4 situation isn't really what the Flyers want.
It gives the Penguins more room to skate and that is when Crosby and Malkin in particular get dangerous.

go stars!
Was a good solid game from what i saw of the first two periods. took to long for them to get their momentum up. now they have to go 2 more in a row. Tough thing to do.
Fuckin go Dallas! I really thought they might be down and out but I'm glad they're trying to make a series out of it. Turco has been sensational but the rest of the team still has to pick up their game. Wings looked sloppy tonight but they wont keep making stupid mistakes. Dallas needs to step up at home in game 6 and carry it to game 7 if they want a snowballs' chance in hell to beat detroit. Sup Valisk ;b
I'm at work and our computer system is down. Not fun. Add on top of that the fact I slept in today and I came in late. Perfect recipe for missing the first period of the game today![]()
I'm going to probably miss all of it because I have to light a friend's short film today.![]()
Today is without a doubt the slowest fucking day in the history of time. I work at AAA and our computer systems are down for file resizing. So every single person that calls in needing help, their service request goes onto a handwritten slip. Yes, AAA, a multi-billion dollar company, does not have a backup system.
So needless to say, the day is dragging. Luckily I'm done at three. I almost wish Kaylia was here to argue with. It would at least help pass the time.
Jesus Christ the officiating is horrendous today. If the calls keep up like this I think the Pens might actually have a chance to beat Detroit next round.
You aren't missing much Brill.

I agree. Turco has been Dallas' best player by far. The rest of the team needs to pick it up if they want to beat Detroit in the Joe again. I wish our veteran players would step up and contribute a little more (Modano, Zubov). I think Tippet has done an outstanding job changing up the lines and putting our speed line on the ice against the Datsuk/Zetturberg(sp?) line. Match speed with speed. Although D and Z line is more skilled, they are having a hard time beating our speed line to the puck.
I honestly don't think Dallas will win this series but I'd love it if they did. Detroit is clearly the superior team. They enter the offensive zone flawlessly at times. They exit their own zone with ease. They always seem to be at the right place at the right time. Dallas is going to have to prove me wrong to convince me that they can beat Detroit. I'm a die hard Dallas fan but I don't blindly follow without being reasonable. We definately have the momentum at this point but I don't see us beating Detroit in the Joe for game 7. Not unless a handful of Stars step it up and get hot. (Come on Richards, Ribeiro, Modano)
