I made it home in time to watch the game, but I had the tv muted and the radio on listening to Mike Lange. He was freaking out. The officiating in that game was absolute shit, even though my boys were the ones getting the calls. The two goaltender interference calls were horrid. I've watched a ton of hockey in my life and I can say without a doubt that is probably the best game I have ever seen.

Fleury tore it up. It reminded me of his first game in the NHL where he faced fifty some odd shots and only let two in behind him. Fantastic game. And a great game for the NHL. They finally got a game that lived up to this Stanley Cup finals billing.

I flat out took a break from my merit party to watch the last 3 minutes of the game, all somber and shit and then bam, 37 seconds left to go and Pens tied it. I think I had a heart attack from excitement lol. I hope game 6 is as good, and less one sided....Pens got very lucky to get out of that game, they were dominated in the third, and most of the second.

The only thing that could make these playoffs better, is if we were taken back to 1996-01 and we had Gary Thorne and Bill Clement announcing the games. I like the combo now of Eddie O and the other guy, but they don't work as well as a team as Clement and Thorne did.....

They are done. They are sucking fucking balls right now. Or I should say still. This entire series they haven't been able to maintain any offensive pressure whatsoever. Their forecheck has been missing in action along with Malkin. When Pittsburgh has scored on Detroit it almost seems like they genuinely surprised the Red Wings. Good season, hate to see it end with the Penguins getting dominated.

Congrats Detroit on the championship, and it's always nice to see the handshakes of sportsmanship. ALso, it was nice to see the Penguins wait so they could salute their fans.

That last play by Chris Osgood was so good/lucky. Good that he blocked the first shot, and then the rebound shot that went just over the line and on the other side. Great last few seconds and a good game. Not epic like Monday, but still good. I may start watching hockey sometime.

The last few minutes of that game had be tickled silly. I don't even like sports - we just stumbled upon the game at Applebee's when we went for a late dinner, and for the first time in my life, I uttered the words, "can you move, sweetie, I can't see the game!"

I was rooting for Pens, and it would have been so f'in awesome if they'd managed to pull through, but still - grats to Detriot.
