I'm not a fan of Sylvia's at all, but c'mon, you have to give him more respect than that. Sure, Hong is big, but he had only one pro fight before Fedor. Tim was the UFC champ. He has the experience necessary to potentially hold his own, as opposed to Hong where everyone knew what was going to happen.
Hong's been to the finals of 2 K1 World GP so I wouldn't call him a rookie in the stand up department. His size/weight and wrestling background give him pretty good takedown defense as Fedor had to pull guard to actually get him down. Once it hit the ground, everyone knew it was gonna be over but does anyone think it'll be different with Sylvia? As in, will Fedor have trouble taking Tim down or finishing him once it gets there? Size and reach is all Tim has and HMC does it better than Tim.

I know what Hong's credentials are in the standup department, but he knows nothing in regards to BJJ, whereas Sylvia beat Monson, who just recently came first in free weight and second in his weight class at the no-gi BJJ worlds. I understand that he just recently submitted by Nog, but I believe Sylvia's BJJ is better than what he showed that night.

Monson is a beast. I was at one of his training sessions in Florida when he was training for the Silvia fight.

i don't think people really understand how unreal monson is. the man is a locomotive that knows AMAZING jiu jitsu. i picked monson to destroy silvia and silvia really impressed me that fight. every time i pick against silvia it seems like...and every time i end up looking dumb. he's just not exciting or impressive to watch. he's one of those guys which every sport has *cough* lennox lewis *cough* that make things look worse because they're doing them.

I was really disappointed Jeff lost that fight also. He was the first big MMA guy that I ever had a chance to talk to and meet on a real personal level.

If you search for "Jeff Munson UFC 65 Training" on youtube it should bring up 2 videos. The video where he was outside in the parking lot of IHP, I was the dude steering the Navigator while he pushed it around the lot lol.

that yamma show was fucking horrible. they played that "yamma pitfighting" surface up so big...and it was just a small slant at the edge of the cage. bunch of horrible fights and a terrible idea for a tourny for the heavyweight title...wtf. i didn't see one redeeming factor in that show tonight besides i got a nap during the main event.

Ya, it was overall really terrible. The ramp on the sides was supposed to give the person leverage to stop the person shooting in or something but it just made it super easy to dump the guy with a double leg, which is basically the opposite of its intention. The announcer guy sounded weird and said some dumb stuff, and one of the commentators was in love with head kicks for some reason even though they never happened. I guess seeing Igor bait kerr into the kneebar or whatever it was, was pretty cool, but other than that it was a pretty talentless show.

Man these coaches are funny. Matt Serra digging on Hughes was funny but this is times two.

Rampage made a huge mistake in picking first rather than choosing the matchups. Matchups are a much bigger advantage as we saw in previous seasons.

Herpes on the neck was nasty. Hope that nasty skank that give that to you was worth it.

Yeah, but like last season, the picks go back and forth every fight, so it's really not that bad.

it's herpes simplex like a cold sore, not the std. he got it from wrestling in minnesota, lot of wrestlers get it then have outbreaks their whole lives.

I'm pretty sure Dana said they (Forest's team) retains control. Which if that is true is pretty strange cause I like the alternating every other fight more than the one sided picking.

If that's the case I misunderstood. I was playing online poker, so my attention wasn't fully there >.>

yea iirc winning team retains control, which is good because thats how the winning team should be treated.

The ufc press conference video is on the website, pretty shitty quality though, it was skipping all over the place for me. There were some pretty funny moments in it from serra, gsp, and rich.

I should really refrain from watching all these videos so soon cause its getting me way too excited and its still 2 days away.
