Getting out of a grab

Is there a way to get out of a grab quickly? When I play the Computer, they can grab me forever and when I grab them, they can break free in an instant.

I normally just press all the buttons and rotate my movement stick thing.

Just mash buttons to break it. Usually you can break out instantly under 20% or so if they hesitate at all.

Also as a side note, unless they're under 10~20%, you're guaranteed at least one hit (hitting the A button) before you throw them. Above 100%, I usually can get in 3 hits (even more with Lucario! Sometimes up to 5) before a throw regardless of how much they mash. Free damage... always a good idea to take advantage of it!
