That's not a 'gem'. The guy's got good gear, you have no idea if he sold his Prism to afford Morrigan's body, or what the fuck he did. He got far above average gear, fuck if he's missing one or two whiteboxes.

I see that as a Thunder staff, but even if it's a Dark, it's stupid, but it's far from gimp/confused/wtf. Stop nitpicking like an idiot.

seconded. some gaps, sure, but what's the net gain on a prism cape over a rainbow? not much. couple of oddities, but he may just be showing off some toys or he may not have had time to grab all his gear. it is whitegate after all. besides, might not even be his main. maybe he's a blu main and rdm is just a side job for him? compare him to my rdm and he might look a little better in comparison. ^^ (i hear kittens being killed every time my gimp ass puts my morg robe on my rdm.)

Originally i asked my girlfriend (who's a SMN) about the Turban, because it just doesn't seem all that great for SMN. Later on i did a full /check and neither of us could figure it out.

Anyway. i submit to BG, maybe someone more knowledgeable than us knows the real story. My Nyzul team doesn't use SNMs, so maybe there's some special trick this person is geared for that we just don't know about.

Obviously the summoners gear is far from great. Things like HQ staffs (Bahamuts Staff) are pretty nice for the job along with things like Yinyang robe and evokers ring. Unlike most jobs in the game however you dont really need amazing gear to do good damage on summoner. Damage from bloodpacts just varies in general and is inconsistent, sometimes people who have worse gear and less merits will still do better damage at times than someone whos got better gear, when really they shouldnt. Summoner is just kind of a weird job in that way.

As for some of the gear selections I cant really say what they were thinking, some of them seem a little off but maybe they were just in a rush or something.

Yeah, there's just.. no excuse for gear like that. If the gear is any indication of how they play the job, I'd run far far away. If you honestly think gear doesn't make a difference on SMN you're a fool, because gear is the only thing SMN has that can actually set it apart from any other summoner. Yes BP damage is random, but that's what Avatar attack gear is for, if nothing else it raises the average, and lowering BP timer increases the number of them you can do in a given span of time.

That SMN's gear is just disgusting.

Gear helps which I obviously pointed out. Things like HQ staffs (Bahamut staff), AF2, yingyang robe, evoker ring, etc. I just meant the gap between a really geared smn compared to a really bad geared smn is alot less than most jobs. Like for instance you could do Tiamat on SMN with no gear and you would do fine. If you went naked on most jobs you wouldnt do anything.

Like I said I have no idea why he used that gear, theres really no excuse I would just expect its probably just a combination of rushing and maybe new 75. I dont think anyone would use a acc ring because they think its useful lol for summoner, unless your doing some kind of smn/thf sata spirit taker for farming but it doesnt look like that really.

I posted this person's BLM here before, but not her BRD.
I'm tempted to see the other 5 jobs she has, but if they're anything like the 2 I've seen...yeah. If you're on this server, you should know her as "Loveableblu." She's got a reputation... I'll leave it at that. I had no problems with her until recently when I found out how big of a whiny bitch she can be.
Story in short:
She was asked to go BLM, and whined because it would pull hate and she would lose more exp. Her buffer would suffer (OH NOES).
She came on BRD instead, and it took more than 10 minutes to get a party...so she said she was gonna get pissed if she didn't get one. So? Lol.
We get in, and roughly 5 minutes later she's talking about how her dog is currently giving birth on the floor. So far it has had 2 puppies...And she's still playing FFXI? Seriously...?
About an hour later, with her mentioning how the dog's still giving birth every 5 minutes, we run into a wipe. Her friend...yes, her friend, says that Alisha needs an R3 because her buffer is getting low.
She's on BRD. Why oh why would any BRD, even one as gimp as her, need an R3? TP Burn hi. But the fact that she couldn't even ask for it, but her friend had to, kind of irked me as well. So I said something about it, and she gives me a sob story about how she has to work 35+ hours a week. As if that's bad... I work 40+ a week, do school, and I'm a BLM...but I still manage to keep buffer at cap. And 35+ hours a week is her excuse? Yeah, okay. Anyway, enough ranting. Time for gear:

Earrings: The conserve MP+5 (can't recall name) and an antivenom... wtf

Rings: NQ...The HQ is cheap (at least on Alexander). Why do people still have NQ...?

Really don't get that whole wah wah I'll delevel bullshit. I was dualboxing my friend's BLM to fill up a gap at an Ouryu, and he died a couple of times cause I was slower than molasses on stoneskinning and curing. Went to make some wamoura's explode in Zhayolm, got like 5 or 6k in a little over an hour (and I don't really know much at all about BLM).
It's easy to get to, it's decent xp, and you can even read a book or something when resting.

Especially silly on BRD, I bet people were lining up to make a pt when she said her buffer was low, extremely shitty gear or not.

OK, as a SMN I know 95% of our gear is some annoying as hell rare/ex that can take some time to get, so I won't be over critical on it. But somethings just have to be said.

Obviously, the ring is just WTF retarded. But the one that really makes me want to gouge my eyeballs out is the body. Obviously YY robe is best, but if you haven't gotten it yet, there is NO EXCUSE AT ALL for not having Austere Robe. The evoker's doublet is garbage.

The thing that pisses me off the most is those evoker boots. I did weeks worth of tests on those fuckers years ago and found nothing. Waste of time, waste of inventory space, and anyone that wears them is a waste of oxygen.
