I just got the English version today. I beat the JP version a while back and enjoyed it. So far after playing the English version for a few minutes, I can comment on one thing. Cecil's English voice is done pretty well, I'm hoping the rest is as good too.
Cecil's was good, hated Kain's, playing it undubbed now
Not for sale near me till tommorow
fuck
I thought there were a lot of spoilers in the manual and title screen movie. I realize there are some people who have already played this before, but for the rest, it's giving a lot away.
Playing with no voices, this Lord of the Rings'ish vibe they have given to it for use of certain terms is fucking lame.
I downloaded it because I am illegal and own an R4, liking it so far. It's nice to be able to compare to the 2D version, I couldn't do that with FFIII because the DS version was the first time I played it.
I've never played this game, how sploilery is the stuff Khamsin ? Actually I did play the game untill I got access to Cid, then I got lost and just quit. Any major stuff after it?
Cecil looks absolutely terrible as a Paladin... Wow.
Just spoils what originally would have been some game defining, unexpected turns of events that are now common knowledge kind of like:
(FF7 spoiler that everyone knows)
Spoiler: show
and things like what characters you can expect to meet later in the game.
But its easy to avoid, if you just don't look at the manual or watch the title screen movie until halfway through the game.
ok i'll take your word for it when I start it up.
god please don't let this be as easy as every other release of this game. I want to experience this so called hard mode that people talk about and have to spend more then a week at 2-4hrs a day to beat.
I just got PLD, really liking it so far.
I hope they remake FF5 and 6 next.
Anyone who's played FF3, how does this compare? I didn't enjoy FF3's slowness, is it a bit more fast paced? Even on high speed battles with FF3, I couldn't stand it and just permanently put it down after a while.
Well, they can be a bit slow, but there's an auto-battle command. Basically, you set up one ability per person and they just do that ability over and over.
I find it faster than FF3, but it's still turn-based so... (btw, you can always just go to the options menu and speed up the battles if you put them at 1 rather than 3 or 4 which is the default iirc.)
