Chain grab, grab smash, grab combo, back air and down B a lot, dont let nana get her ass kicked.
Done.
Curious, how do you control Nana while grabbing?
As you would popo normally, just dont hit a direction when you wanna prevent actually throwing the person. To smash someone while popo is grabbing them use the C stick, to charge smash hit the C stick and hold Z simultaneously. Jump and hit down at the same time to send a person into a down throw while nana is jumping then hit forward A once to do nana's forward air then hit front on the C stick to send popo into a front smash, that's a main bread and butter combo but you could just chain the grab by ending it after the front air then regrabbing with popo.

Did a random search on youtube for ice climbers, pretty much looks like what Ryko's talking about. Seems like a neat trick.

You have to DI yourself forward a bit while doing it. By now, you should be doing all aerials with the c-stick.
The more difficult aspect of Ice Climbers is learning how to do the f-throw/b-throw chaingrabs. It's not something that can be done easily whatsoever. An entire day of practice, and I can only do 3 consecutive f-throw chaingrabs in a row somewhat consistently.
I just started playing with Ice Climbers today. I can do the down chain grab fine. The Down Throw + Jump + Forward A is easy enough to do, but I usually need to get some damage on the enemy so they'll bounce up high enough. It's a really good move to use when you bring them to the edge and just slam them down. Since this was my first day ever using Ice Climbers I have a few questions after playing around with them.
How do you charge up a Smash Attack from a grab? I watched a video with someone throwing the enemy up, and then having Nana smash up.
How do you do the Side/Backthrow Chain Grab?
What does DI mean? I'm not keeping up with the Brawl abbreviations.
To charge a smash you hit the Cstick while simultaneously pressing Z.
DI means directional influence, it generally applies to movement altering your typical trajectory after being hit but people also use the term when speaking of jumps (DIing forward or backwards on a jump generally applies to doing aerial moves, like jump and hit forward on the C stick while holding back to do a front air while DIing backwards)
If I have Grab set to R would it work the same as Z?Originally Posted by Ryko
When you're talking about DI, is that when people have their Specials set to the C-Stick? I remember doing that with Lucas, and having something like PK Fire send me flying back.
No, the C stick is called wavebouncing or some stupid shit. DI is just tilting the controller in the direction you want to go while being hit or while doing another move. And yeah the R trigger should work if you use that instead.
Ok, thanks.
b-sticking. wavebouncing is, iirc, an after-effect of some b-moves while b-sticking, like Lucas' overB sending you unusually far while b-sticking because player DI is separated from specials with b-stickingOriginally Posted by Ryko
edit: ew, run on or something ugly, but oh well
I don't know what you just said, but I don't like the tone of it.Originally Posted by Nirokun!
