I'm in the 'never XP so don't get seals' group. I keep up to three stacks of each KS and BS, and toss anything over that. Rarely do I get to that point.
Now and then my LS used to spam Copycat, mostly when someone wanted a weapon (got my Coffinmaker from there), but we haven't done that in a long time. It's kind of a fun one to do, what with all the being charmed and all. Nothing like beating up your friends and LS mates to make for a good time! :rocl:
Woot I got quoted from a completely different thread! But yeah, it's not worth just going in with a level 1 job. Any decent setup could beat it easily, I'd say the only thing that could lead to dying is feeding it too much tp and having the poison eat away at everyone.Originally Posted by Bakthi
Edit: And most KS I've had at once is about 180, BS about 400something.
I have.... 13 stacks bseals 5 stacks bseals, and some currently making a stack... 31 bseals/79 kseals.
So 1318 bseals and 574 kseals.
I just got done trying that bcnm on nin with pretty much a full evasion set up(missing kingdom pants or whatever the evasion one is, to lazy to buy it) and I had the exact opposite experience as you :\ My acc was perfectly fine on it, granted I hit for hilariously sad damage, but it felt like I was tanking an IT++ evasion wise, fucker almost never missed.Originally Posted by Waef

I remember when I started playing... Was killing stuff in West Raufonre and I see that my inventory is full. I check what is not uselful... Ohhh a Beastman seal ? What is it ? Dunno... Bahh, let's toss it! lolll But yeah, now I keep them all. I got 3 stacks atm, I mostly use them for the KC BCNM with no luck :/
Petrifying Pair has a decent drop rate on Leaping Boots. I'm something like 7/13 on itOriginally Posted by ahiyam
friend of mine leveled about 6 or 7 jobs to 75 solo /bst I think he has around 30 stacks of bseals and 20+ of kindred, ill need to get him to post or get a screenie.
Did you pick the middle chest as well?Originally Posted by Panella
Huh, dunno what to tell you, I'm pretty sure I was missing a few pieces of equipment, I just put Kurayami on it and I would say it had the accuracy of a low VT mob. You're right about hitting it for sad damage, the same thing happened to me, but then again my gear was pretty subpar and I didn't use any food. Maybe you just got unlucky? Or I got lucky? Or it could have to do with which chest you pick, as solsovly suggested. If that were the case, obviously the small chest would always be best to pick, but I don't see why they would make difficulty different for each chest, unless drops were somehow affected.Originally Posted by Panella
Yep, picked the middle one as well. Still had lvl cap gear from doing cop crap for my nin so I figured I would give it a shot. However, even with capped ninjutsu hojo/jubaku was all I ever landed. Couldn't seem to get kurayami to ever land so that may have been the difference.
If anyone else wants to try it, have fun with the joy that is death trap... so... sooooo annoying.
I tried this BCNM twice duo'd with NIN and WHM. We would get the chest to 20% and wipe from me running out of MP and the NIN would never evade even with elemental seal blind. He is a fully merited NIN so whatever tiers was carried over we could not kill these chests. We almost timed out both times as well before we wiped
Hatred for exp grind + only one 75 job + intrpduction to BCNMs eraly on = I've never had more than 60 BCs, and only once had 99 KSs (which lasted for exactly 30 minutes).
Besides the kclub or PCC BC's, is there a decent BCNM a group can do? Not looking for big bucks, just something we can run 6 times, and split the cash by selling it all. Should we target the torques and earrings BCs? (Enfeebling torques and earrings, among others)
torques good, divine punishers isn't bad(6-man yagudo one) can drop O kote and Fuma Kyhan so decent gil, or the Brothers D'Aurphe(Shadow BCNM) for RSE2 feet and chance of E-bow and Cross-Counters.Originally Posted by Kenji

um.. i had 9 stacks and change before this wknd dragging my brother out to k club bc, no drop
sitting on 3 stacks ks too
Yup, torque BCNM60s are great. Jungle Boogeymen (tonberries) is my personal favourite out of all the 6-man BCNM60s and it has better overall torques than the antican version of the same fight.Originally Posted by Kenji
The only downside with the tonberry one is the amount of prepwork it requires if you were a slacker back in the day you did Zilart missions. You will need 4 (or less, but you need to run back and forth) Unlit lanterns to get to the BCNM. And then you need your ninja to be 70+ and have the Paintbrush of Souls key item so after the fight has ended he can stay inside, pop chest after everyone else has exited and run back through the entire Temple of Uggalepih (past the doll that guards the door and the paintbrush door). On the other hand if you can get together a static group like my old LS crew that had all of the above sorted, it's easily the best moneymaker of all the torque BCNMs. Strategy is pretty much the same as ZM4 fight. Must jobs are a NIN tank, a BLM for Sleepga(II) and then just your usual mix of healer, support and DD.
Aside from the treasure coffer one, lot of peeps seem to skip BCNM50s as well. Hostile Herbivores is great fun, did it a few times back in the day and made some great money out of it. It drops all the lvl 50 RSE belts and all the lvl 50 rings. Fight is versus 3 sheep, you need a NIN tank, 2x DD/NIN (we always had 2xRNG but WARs or anything would work), a healer and 2x RDM or BST or SMN (etc.) to kite the "spare" sheep. You also need poison potions for all melees and tank to counter the sheep song spam. The sheep don't use normal melee attacks (or if they do they use them very little), mainly TP moves and Lamb chop hurts so anyone that might get hate off them needs shadows. Pretty easy fights though.
Use the FFXIAH's xNM page if you want to see quickly the potential profits:

Fun fact: the sheep do use "normal" attacks, but they actually are calculated as ranged attacks, and have additional effect: knockback. This means several things:Originally Posted by Vigilia
1) they don't ever miss shadows, but can miss if you don't have shadows up
2) the damage will never interrupt casting
3) the knockback will always interrupt casting unless you can return to your original position before the spell completes
BTW, with defense down and berserk, our ranger was hitting them for 400 per shot, barrage for like 2k. lol.
