Re: Is kiting around an object a bannable offense?

Just depends on the GM I guess. Considering the Paladin was E. Staff tanking instead of Pld/Nin, I'm guessing it was a few years ago now too. Hopefully that GM got Syphilis.

I'm pretty sure the "Using terrain" thing was put in because of AV.

key word there is holding. doesn't matter if it's sleeping, being kited or otherwise, holding is a GMable offense. if, however, you're fighting it, then it's not holding. they do need to come to some consistent definition of what holding is vs killing for DoT fighting. one GM will not call holding on an LS when they're sitting with a tiamat at 100% for 45 minutes. other GMs...well... everyone remembers the picture of the GM berating the pld for using an earth staff.
They never mentioned holding as the problem, it was always stop using those plants. Was the same GM both times on different days, the second time they said I told you to stop using the plant so now they have to give more than a warning.

And it wasn't a one-time thing. I've seen this done a lot on phoenix, usually by the same LS. The same LS who wasn't considered to be holding when they fought Tiamat from noon till the sun went down (litterally. I'm not exaggerting).
looooooooooooooool I can't imagine who you're talking about!!

It really does depend on the GM you get. If the GM knows anything about how you fight endgame mobs, then they won't QQ about a "PLD using an Earth Staff"

If you are going towards the main entrance, it's on the right.

Re: Is kiting around an object a bannable offense?

From my experience, kiting won't get you banned if it's taking damage. Even still, my ls, along with many others, has kited King Vinegarroon for hours, and yes a GM is usually called....and it usually goes something like this.

    GM>> Hi
    Kiter>> Hay!
GM>> Ur stalling. That's against ToS.
Kiter>> We have ppl otw, and we INTEND on killing it.
    GM>> o.ok, npnp. thx, cu~

Don't need a bush, just kite it near the main entrance to Ru'Avitau.
    He's a joke to solo.
