    Subbing SCH skill differences vary with main job.

    Everything I've read indicates that using Light/Dark arts raises the respective skills to B+ (256), but this doesn't seem to be true, it appears to vary by your main job.

    WHM75/SCH37 Base
    Healing 286 (276 + 10 from merits) ;; Divine 269
    Enhancing 230 ;; Enfeebling 236 (220 + 16 from merits)
    Elemental 101 ;; Dark 101

    After Light Arts:
    Healing 286 ;; Divine 269
    Enhancing 256 ;; Enfeebling 272 (256 +16)
    Elemental 101 ;; Dark 101

    After Dark Arts:
    Healing 286 ;; Divine 269
    Enhancing 230 ;; Enfeebling 272 (but note this is still 256+16)
    Elemental 246 ;; Dark 246

    Had a friend try out blm75/sch
    Healing 101 ;; divine 101
    enhancing 200 ;; enfeebling 230
    dark 285 (269+16) ;; elemental 292 (276+16)

    Light Arts:
    Healing 246 ;; Divine 246
    Enhancing 246 ;; Enfeebling 256
    Dark 285 ;; Elemental 292

    Dark Arts:
    Healing 101 ;; Divine 101
    Enhancing 200 ;; Enfeebling 256
    Dark 285 ;; Elemental 292

    So for the heck of it I pulled out my 75mnk/sch
    Bases
    Divine 101 Healing 111 (10 from merits)
    enhancing 101 enfeebling 117 (16 from merits)
    Elemental 101 Dark 101

    Light and Dark arts set the respective skills to 246 before merits

    So apparently, having enough skill in a category actually grants it a +10 bonus from an Arts making it B+, but the ability itself doesn't give B+.

    Im not sure what the exact conditions are, it isn't necessarily natural job skills, because blm technically does have a natural enhancing magic skill.

    Taking a guess at SCH skill levels, perhaps you need 210 natural skill or higher to get this +10 skill bonus from an Arts, but the end result still needs to be higher than your natural base or the arts won't affect that skill (ie healing on whm).

    On a further note, I had a friend try Light arts on PLD
    Base caps 256 divine, 225 healing 210 enhancing

    Light arts made all 3 256, while it made the 200 base of blm only a 246, so something about 210 or more seems to be important.

    It's hard to test nowadays, no one merits in U.Range anymore.

    That, and a paltry +3 earring available for Sacrarium means no real easy way to test. I will tell you that Divine Seal + Elemental Seal stacked doesn't work, hah. I assume Benediction does though, so it is just an issue with resist.

    Though a WHM could get +60 skill from gear (15 AF1 hands, 15AF2 legs, 5 sea cape, 10 pole, 7 torque, 3 earring, 5 Nashira). So 276+60= 336 and then, I guess, you could merit that to 352... I guess it's worth a shot, cause that's a pretty large difference than naked skill.

    Oh, and then toss Magic Accuracy on the rest of the slots!

    I remember trying this out and maxing out healing skill for a while for Cursnas, when we used to merit in Ule quite often. I never really got better results out of it, though of course it wasn't any huge sample that would be considered significant. Now I have my fastcast/recast shit on so I can spam it faster and hope something lands. /shrug

    I have no luck in Sacrarium/ Aqueducts with Doom but have more reliably managed to remove it in Dynamis. I realise some peeps narrowly avoid but this is actually removing it. I have no healing magic merits and don't macro in anything as yet (I don't really have room... for one spell). I have no clue why
