Yea it seems that they are posting everything they can think of to cover their ass.
Bans on suspicions alone is whats coming up next i think. SE is making a move on something big. Perhaps with the recent lawsuit Blizzard got the ball rolling against the creator of Glider (glider = ffxi-app for WoW), pending the result might give companies like SE more firepower to move on people who abuse the game with glitches, cheats, 3rd pt programs.
Then again it might just be an updated agreement because someone forgot a punctuation mark on the last one. Looking at SE's track record it wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah nor are screenshots valid evidence for SE to do anything (like stop poshackers), guess they are afraid of people sending them all kinds of viruses or w/e. You can technically get banned for posting GM screens on a forum, if they want your ass on a stick

Was that always there? Gives then a reason to directly attack gil/account buyers/sellers as well as the sites that list them which is fantastic, though because it's not in caps I expect it isn't new. Still it looks like they're trying to plug up the gaping holes in their terms of service and it's long overdue.

Doesn't take long to read through it I don't know what all the bitching is about.

I read recently about how a lot of the stuff that gets put into MMO EULAs really is on shaky ground in terms of legal validity. For example, in games where, in some cases, people are investing literally years of their life into a persistent character, the legality of something like

probably could be challenged and, depending on what kind of judge heard the case and how well a lawyer could argue against it using existing law, potentially invalidated. Of course, the fact that SE is based in Japan would make things much more complicated, but there are reasons why somebody who's been playing the game for two years can't just stop playing if they disagree with the policy changes. The idea that an MMO is a service which requires no work/investment on the part of a player to create something of a derivative work (e.g., their character) is something that I expect will be contested somewhere down the line (and probably has been already, but I'm sure practically everything up until now has been dismissed).

Well on one uninteresting but relevant note, I caught some changes in the content-id area of POL. Looks like they changed the 'purchase ID' button to say 'obtain ID'; guess that's tangent to the whole bit about playonline subscribers "not 'owning' their accounts nor having property rights to them nor their virtual assets" (not quoting that ver batim, but it's in there).

And I think they adjusted some things about PC spec requirements/recommendations in the purchase/obtain-id section as well. Small meh technical changes, but just some things I noticed.
