Gavin's a cool dude. Good player, well geared, and dedicated. I'm sure you'll get some negative feedback from some of his current ls members at some point because they're bound to feel abandoned but he would be a good addition to your ls.

Hmm...didn't see this one coming. I was in a Linkshell that Gavin lead called Scrubs on the Midgardsormr server. I was in that linkshell for around 7-8 months, and about a month ago or more I decided to leave. Gavin as well as many other people that are leaders/members of scrubs were in the HNM shell ParadiseOblivion, but I'm sure they need no explanation. They are experienced players with all aspects of endgame except for maybe Einherjar, because we did not do that much. However.

The reason I post is because I am surprised to see Gavin applying to another LS cross server after what I have witnessed first hand. We had a few people apply cross server while in Scrubs, (I was one) and people besides me transferred off onto their respective new servers joining a new shell or just ditching Scrubs. Everytime I saw this happen, even in my own ordeal, Gavin was outright upset and pissed about anyone being as low as to switch from a LS they were currently in to one on another server. He took it as a huge slap in the face, and it was well known how he felt about it. He can be a very nice calm person, but at the same time he has a very bad temper that was taken out on members and other linkshell leaders when things did not go the way he wanted. He used to harass me after I left Scrubs because of his temper, and anonymously sent me tells on a Tiamat mule to send me threats about tearing down my reputation and making my current LS reject me and the like because I did not return my novio.

As I'm sure no one will deny, Gavin got a good amount of things from Scrubs. I recieved a Novio and W body among other things, but I left about a month after getting my novio because of the shell and how it was run, which I had planned to do months previously before I had actually recieved anything. But didn't want to leave my friends in the end. I'm sure I will get flamed for posting this, since Gavin was the one person most upset by my leaving, even though we had been on quite good terms beforehand. Anyway, back to the point. I post because I wonder just what is going to happen with Gavin switching servers. He came to a good number of events, but I can tell you as someone who attended every single event with the exception of 2-3 that I can name off hand, his attendance after recieving his items was not all that exemplary. Scrubs did a good number of HNM's/events for awhile, but then things started to wind down after certain people had recieved things. if something did not interest him or drop what he wanted he would leave quite early. But if it did however, I can recall him staying up until amazingly late hours in hopes of getting his item. The thing that concerned some people was that after Gavin had essentially got what he needed from ground HNM (ridill/e body) since he does not need an A or M body or the like, he would do things like skip Fafnir camps and camp KA while he instructed us to camp Fafnir in hopes of getting a Velocious. I admit that Gavin can be a nice guy, and I also admit he has good gear and knows how to play his jobs/most of the games events. But I guess he just needs a new LS besides Scrubs that can get him the elite items he wants that Scrubs simply cannot obtain in its current state. He had been talking to me and a few others for months about server switching when he was upset, but again I just thought this was Gavin and his temper.

Did he mean Demo? If so then it makes sense. Anyway, forgive the wall of text. I just simply wanted to express my concerns. He does know how to play, I just would take him in at your own risk.

I'm going to have to agree with toyo on this one too, and I'm almost positive that he'll come here and say something about me whining for not getting gear for my blm and sam, but he can be a huge douche sometimes too, yes, he is highly skilled and a beast in merits, but he can easily get upset over small things.

For instance, I wasn't on good terms with him @ one point and I knew he had about 6 prism capes to sell, so me and my brother went and bought materials for prism capes and placed all 3 that we HQ'd on AH and undercut on purpose, then he comes on vent and starts calling me a retard and saying that he wants to beat me up. I asked him why (besides the obvious) and he said he "Enjoyed making fun of retards"

other than that, I'd say go ahead and take him if you want a player with skill, but if you want a player with a positive attitude... then idk lol

Gavins a very cool guy, i'd take him into your LS, he is very good at all his jobs, and keeps them all well geared, very skilled player, gunna miss him here on Midgard, even though we hard our difference's sometimes, he's a great guy like I said, enjoy

Gavin is a good leader, good player and a nice person, he earned everything he got in Scrubs, sad to see him leave but if that's his decision i respect that. He will be a good addition to any ls. As for him missing events, both his Ebody and ridill was obtanined during the Euro time camps, not to mention sometimes he stayed up so late ( NA time camps, ls events, dynamis) to help ls regardless he got work/school the next day,and he didn't really miss much events as long as it's not too late for him, asking someone from Euro to stay up till 4am so he can do events with NA players is just silly.

Not sure how much my word means since I don't play or anything, but I have indeed known Gavin forever.

Gavin enjoys ffxi too much and makes a good linkshell member. Being one of our British members both in PO and in scrubs, his time zone was never the same as ours. Regardless of this fact many many times would Gavin sacrifice sleep to stay up and do xxx event even though he'd have work or class the next day. And his staying up for said event was not to get himself an item, 98% of the time it was because he cared enough about the people he played with and wanted to help them get something.

Saying that Gavin would skip events for his own benefit isn't true at all. I think people are confusing him with myself. Many times I'd skip an event to camp KA, or do Limbus or something else and ask Gavin to help. Gavin would always tell me no, he can't skip an event. I'd argue with him saying what the hell does he need from Dragon's Aery, but he wouldn't be that guy. Sure he had access to multiple accounts, and would dualbox an account to help me, but he would still have a character at the event so he wasn't skipping.

He's a funny guy to talk to, and a good friend to have. He'll get upset about things that upset him, but who doesn't get upset? I guess the point I'm getting at is that it would be a mistake to not pearl him. He'd add to your LS more than he'd take away and that is all that matters no?

Anyway, Gav's a cool guy. He's (or was) a big chunk of the glue that held Scrubs together, and I'm not sure what happens now. He's a very skilled, knowledgeable player, and has kick-ass gear. He's also very fucking lucky with HQ rates, but that doesn't belong here, I guess. He has a tendency to whine a bit, but I understand his angle, since as he himself would say, ‘‘people don't listen’’, but it does get annoying after a while. We even had a little argument once, because he thought I was being ‘‘bitey’’, whatever that means, but like him, I like to speak my mind, and we bumped heads. I held no grudge, and still think he's a worthy addition to any ls. Sucks he's leaving mine though.

Oh, and I've seen him pass up on untold amounts of items, so other people would get them, even though he'd also benefit from them. He's far from being item-whorish.

Gavin is a well rounded player, very dedicated player like my other LS members been saying. It sad to see him leave our LS but if you take him he'll be a great addition to your LS.

Wow, didn't see this coming. Gavin you make me /cry. Anyway, from all the replies, Gavin is a reliable person no matter what people say. He's always been the one organizing events/camps/etc. and always putting in time that would take away from his real life shit. Sorry to see you go (take me with you? jk!).
