moving songs from ipod to hdd

k, i have an ipod, 4 gig nano, like 2nd gen that i got from best buy - someone returned it after a couple days after putting some really shit music on it..

been screwing around with itunes for a while, and i can't get the ipod to copy all MY stuff from the pod to the computer. once i do that i intend on syncing everything so it's all cool. that shouls erase any of the songs i didn't put on there myself. a lot of the songs on my ipod are from friends CDs, so i should have permission to move them but i can't figure out how.

apple's website does no good, and tech forums are confusing me. halp bg!

as a sidenote to anyone reading this in the future, ephpod didn't work for me nor did several other popular, recommended programs.

the one i'm using is Floola - quick, easy, free and stable.
