    Food for thought, Mola Mola

Last night I fished up Mola Mola and it left me wondering what the heck can I do with this fish now?

Since it shows up as a yellow "usable" item, I was wondering about eating it. I have Narval, so that should let me consume it. Just wondering has anyone tried this before, or does that fish have some other use in the game?

All fish are eatable, as far as i know...
This one is probably just a random fish to cap your fishing skill with.

I dont think theres anything special too it though i would try munching it and checking any stats it gives, other then that, doesnt look like its used for anything more then a trophy

Only Mithra can eat raw fish without using any type of equipment (Narval for instance). :bagel:

Its just a random fish iirc, eat it and post the stat gains I think fish/raw meat are only 5min durations though.

somepage has most food effects for fish, they have weird things like dex+2 mnd-2, very insignificant

i poked around wondering if the h2h equivalent of Narval was worth it and I quickly found no reason why SE would introduce such gimmicky weapons

    I Know, i re-read my post a few times, and never quite found a reason to correct myself -.-;
I Cant imagine for the life of my why i'd type eatable, its not even a word i think.
    But eh. Next time.

Also, To actually add to something.

yes fish are quite useless if they're not in recipes. The stats they give are extremely gimp (like you said DEX+2 MND-2).
The items that allow you to consume raw fish are just plain stupid.

Slurping down a 30 Foot Sea Leviathon never gets old though

Wasn't there equipment you could wear that allowed you to eat raw fish like mithras?

Exocets (H2H), Narval (Spear), Pagures (moar H2H), Calamar (Spear)

The Sahagin NM drops in SSG basically. It was kinda 'unique' but since most fish give shitty stats its not really more than a novelty.

Seems kinda stupid that SE would add weapons that allow all non-Mithra to eat fish, but no non-Galka raw meat weapons.

But yeah, the bonusses for raw fish are so insignificant it's not worth using, especially since duration is only 5 minutes per fish.

It was just a tiny quirk in the weapons since they are all dropped by 'fishmen'.... haha, you can eat the fish now you have fishmens weapons. >.>

Bad inside dev joke i guess. :D

This game obviously needs "meatmen" to compensate.

ive played various Final Fantasy games, but im not one of those OMG FFVI > ALL iv IS BETTER THAN XI so i dont know if its dev inside joke to some past FF game but yeah it comes off as such; as for the meat i dont recall seeing any meat that added anything worthwhile on its own (and somepage is blocked at work or id check)

Yeah, SE revealed at Fanfest Matron's Knife allows raw fish consumption. I've got a Kard lying around, maybe I'll get some fish and test it out after Kreutzet decides to spawn.
