Nothing was more funny than seeing our MNK/DRK attempt to do 100f/SE on one of our earliest Tiamats at low % (just don't f'in ask). He walked up, engaged, didn't even JA and just dropped dead. We didn't know about counter at that point haha

You wouldn't happen to have that on video, would you?
Sorry, twas a lagfest so I didn't bother. I think many of us died from laughter though, it was like our 3rd tiamat haha
lol I would've died laughing at that...
And man, I didn't even know you could bash while not engaged.![]()
/ I've gotten owned by the invisible counter on thf once or twice when I was too slow to disengage after ws. Timmy cheats.

bash, cor element shot and etc
anyone know any ja that require you to be in engaging mode to use it?
Desperate flourish? and Steps i'm pretty sure.Originally Posted by Osede
Steps doesn't IIRC, targetted flourishes beside animated does though.
I still remember the first time I saw a melee get countered by Tiamat. Reposado ran up to TA WS it, and after the weaponskill he just magically died. I didn't even know about counter back then, so I didn't know what the hell had happened.
o.O That's not my experience at all. Usually stuff goes yellow because someone was engaged and then they disengaged after they were the last to act on the mob. I tank everything disengaged on NIN now, and nothing ever goes unclaimed. Such a waste of capped parry, but sainti are so addictive!Originally Posted by LakshmiToralyn
Having a tank engage while they're, well... tanking and then die is a higher risk of something going yellow than simply tanking disengaged.
I engage because my staff is low, so low chance to hit added to low chance of counter vs. high parry.Originally Posted by RKenshin
Easy argument.
