I highly doubt these will show up on the website, it's likely an in-store-only clearance deal.Originally Posted by Day

Yeah I meant I checked in those stores. In store.
No shit, I was responding to you asking about shipping. They won't ship because it's in-store only.Originally Posted by Day
I think he is subtly asking moots if he would buy him one if he sent the money.
Yes, that's what I'm trying to get at, if it's like 10 bucks shipping it would be worth it to have someone grab one and ship to me, not the store. Sorry if I upset your emotions.
Ah ok fine. You didn't upset me lol.. just making sure you knew it was an instore only thing >_>Originally Posted by Day
So is it 1000gb or the true 1TB 1024 gb?
After tax, shipping, paypal fees, etc, it would cost you at least $150 from me, and I think I would actually lose money at that price. If you live around Columbus I'll get one to you for Cost + tax + gas money.
I have never seen a company use JEDEC standards when it comes to secondary drive storage. It's all about marketing and getting the most profit for the product.Originally Posted by Ikith
You know... hardrive prices are basically falling through the floor.
Here's a external 750GB hardrive for $1.99 (after main-in rebate, can only get one rebate though!) has 1 year warrenty etc etc

I think that's just the enclosure there, which supports up to a 750GB drive.Originally Posted by Gulkeeva
Nah I'm in VA :/ Sucks. Oh well, no worries, I'll just spend a bit more and get something else.Originally Posted by mootsfox
I drove an hour out to Buffalo to pick one up for $185 with tax. My folks are in AZ and they had a few at ~$225.
If gas wasn't going up and my new job would contact me I would've driven around looking for one. I had to settle on a 120GB external for $99ish. Probably unwise but oh well. College sucks =/
It's nice that 1 TB drives are becoming more common and affordable now. I remember when 1GB was the big thing. It won't be long before we get to 40-60 TB internal drives, then 500 TB, then solid state 64TB drives, and so on.

anyone remember bill gates saying no one will ever need over 512KB of RAM? (it may have been less>.>)

There is talk of 250TB drives by the end of 2010.
Then in 2010, I'll get a new laptop with two 250TB drives on RAID 0. And then maybe an external drive for whatever I can't fit on the laptop.Originally Posted by mootsfox
Does that 1TB External offer still work at BB?
Sorry to bump an old thread but I've been looking to get an external hard drive since I've filled up my PC with shows and movies. I found this one http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1185271084278 (1TB WD External) on sale for $180 at best buy today and I wanted to know if it was a good buy.
