Also, how is the backwards compatability for the 80gig? Consider me a lame MGS/FF + random others fanboy. Will my old games be playable on the 80 gig?

If you don't have a PS3 it's a great deal. And 80 is like...95%+ BC. Updates will eventually get BC to 100% but there's a list somewhere that has all the games that work.

Did they ever fix the glitches in nearly all the FF games that caused crashing/stuttering in cut scenes and horrible graphical glitches? Last time I checked the BC on the 80 gigs a TON of RPGs and other games I had played but had crippling or annoying glitches.

I'm glad I've got a 60 gig. They ONLY reason I want the MGS bundle is for the crazy limited gunmetal gray one that says "Metal Gear Solid" on the side but I'll stick with my for sure 100% BC 60gig.

Plus, I'd rather have the LE of the game than the LE of the console which I'd have to buy separate anyway and no point in having 2 copies of the game.

(I'm really trying to convince myself not to buy the LE console >_>)
