    Rare/ex drop rules

I'm wondering if 2 players who currently possess a rare/ex item an enemy drops can the enemy drop the same item?

    Example:

Player A and B have Velocious belt. They're engaged to King Arthro, can KA drop the belt?

No, don't think so. Way back when, JPs used to get KB down to like 5% and then break alliance. They'd make a pt with those who had pixie earring and force Dring drop. Because everyone had pixie, it had to drop the other. Now, if you do that, Dring -may- drop, but pixie wont and dring wont.

Pretty certain that if everyone in PT already has a rare item at the time of the mob's death, and the mob you kill drops that rare item, it won't drop.

Nope, tards on asura who have V.belt have shouted to sell the claim, you'd think people would be smart enough to let them rage, but no, they actually buy the claim off them.

Wow, seriously? How much are people paying for claim?

I see a lot of solo campers there lately, makes me wonder if they're considering the same... A week ago a RDM won claim solo, but of course some random group helped him. While the principle of this is nice, it's really not a good idea to encourage people that camp it solo to show up more often under the idea that if they claim, some group will always help them kill. People will just abuse it, and there will be even more crowding that damn place.

Only unequippable Rare items will drop if everyone in the party has it (see: coffer keys), gear (Fransisca, Velocious Belt) will not drop if everyone has it.

Coffer keys don't drop if everyone has.

I used to live in Kuftal, and they'd never drop if I still had one on me. In addition, exp PTs at those levels get the same results until keys are tossed.

    Re: Rare/ex drop rules

Hm, my mistake then. I really don't remember ever seeing differently, but I suppose my sample size is nothing compared to a BST's.

At the very least if the coffer key example doesn't hold stone, then the delkfutt key one does. So it doesn't apply for all unequipable items, only a certain few (apparently only coffer keys?).

Delkfutt example being, that if you kill the NM and everyone in your PT already has a key, 0 will drop. Same applies for many other similar items, like the rare/ex Quadav plate in Davoi needed to unlock the gate. I'm also pretty certain the same still applies for any rare item (equipable or not) in opening chests. It certainly did before with forcing phalanx/erase to drop from BCs and while they did change this, they didn't change that having the rare of the item stops others from dropping.

I also remember a group posting about getting only one drop off of a chariot in salvage, when everyone already had one of the drops (I believe it was phaubos guanlets). So at the very least it's definite for most if not all equipment.

Coffers keys = Consumable item though (their names are yellow) . All the other items stay in your inventory after use and have normal coloured names.

On BST I'd occasionally keep keys in my inv and shout to give keys away to people who needed them while levelling up so long as they didn't overcamp me (although when they did, they had a train of bats to play with).

Spell scrolls also show up as consumable though, no? Yet they won't drop if you already have?

    Re: Rare/ex drop rules

i believe it all depends on the item, more common items are easily well known (the delkfuts key being a prime example) and less common items like velocious belt aren't, but truthfully, who would WANT to test this?

Well, there's no reason to believe it applies for any equipment.

Honestly I used to be superstitious about this stuff, and despite the fact that forcing drops no longer works... I and every character in my farming group would keep stuff like daylight dagger, nightmare sword, lothar, amikiri's GK, tarasque's scythe, raise III, attestations, etcetc, in storage/inventory. Never seen any of those NMs drop any of those items while all in PT had the item in possession.

Most of which are 100% drops too. I once had a THF get pissed at me and accuse me of lying when he asked to lot daylight dagger after a Tzee kill... He wouldn't believe it didn't drop.

Will somebody tell the leaders in my dynamis linkshell this please?

We're all lugging around the EXP scrolls with the idea that other shit will drop instead, despite my repeated insistence that it won't.

(and, no, we don't get EXP scrolls dropping anymore)

QFT: You'll see it drop but "You do not meet the requirements..." or something along those lines will appear and you'll lose it straight away.

lol wow... It doesn't work at all, I can confirm it with all that shit I mentioned earlier + the fact they openly made a statement about changing this a while ago.

They do drop, You just get to watch them drop from your inventory while the next item gets sorted.

Spells will drop even if everyone in the party has them. I've seen this happen with Absorbs while camping Shadows in Fei'Yin recently.
