Rare/ex drop rules

Spell scrolls also show up as consumable though, no? Yet they won't drop if you already have?

Spells will drop even if everyone in the party has them. I've seen this happen with Absorbs while camping Shadows in Fei'Yin recently.

I've actually had a bit different experience. I farm Sahagins behind the Gold Beastcoin door in Grotto. If both my husband and I have a certain rare spell (Hymnus, Shell IV, etc) it will not drop off the Sahagins until I go to town and get rid of one or both copies. Testimonies however, drop like water no matter how many we are holding or throw away ^^;

Also, the NM Novv the Whitehearted will not drop Minstrel Coat for us since both of us have it, but if we invite someone else who does need the coat BEFORE WE CLAIM, it will most of the time drop. If we claim the NM and then invite someone, it usually will not not. So people talking about selling the claim if they already have the ra or ra/ex item in question are really scamming people. I don't know exactly when a monster's lootpool is determined, but this is what I have seen from my own experience. It seems we must have someone who does not have the item in PT BEFORE we claim the NM, or the chances that it will drop go way way down, if not go to zero.

i have seen Joyeuse drop when every single person in the party already had one.

It sits in treasure pool for a while and then is lost because you do not meet requirements.

You sure you didn't have someone in party who didn't have one during kill, who than zoned out, or had a full inventory?

Both two of my best friends and I farm Troopers for Goldmasks, and I've never seen a second Flash scroll drop when one was in inventory.

Meh i don't know they might have just passed it too. I will try to think of some 100% drop NM i can go test this with easy when i get off work.
