fascism is on the conservative side of the spectrum. not quite so much economically (although corporations controlling govt/having huge influence is fascist, kinda) but definitely socially- "Islamofascism"? yeah.

Only if you define conservative by the label 'small government', which is, frankly, getting pretty silly considering both the record and even the intent of a small government.

Fascism doesn't always define an economic structure, and when it does it is neither liberal nor conservative, but it defines a very rigidly conservative social structure.

I had a whole long reply to this, dealing with how conservatism and Fascism are actually defined. I deleted it though, because realistically, it all comes down to labels. "Conservative" is now a product of all of the different political ideologies that have called themselves "conservative" over the years resulting in a general idea of small government, but strict adherence to the old Protestant moral code. Fascism is about authoritarianism and nationalism, regardless of the (however massively rigid) economic or social structure.
