Sadly every candidate is a bad one. They are all Liberals.
See, Liberals see the world very skewed. Your average (decently intelligent) person wakes up every day in the world we live in. This person holds certain views based on their interaction with this world. If, for some reason, their views are wrong, the world corrects them, and their view of the world is now properly aligned with how things actually function.
Liberals do not behave this way.
A Liberal will wake up in the morning, and view the world as they believe it is or should be, and make decisions based on a world that exists entirely within the Socialist Monopinion. It isn't correct, it isn't even close.
Not saying I support McCain either, he's a Liberal through and through. I mean, endorsement by the NY Times? However, I don't have a lot of choice. The only respectable candidate was washed out months ago by the media and people with a lot of $. (Talking about Fred Thompson btw.)
Quick Disclaimer: I'm not a Republican either, as I disagree with quite a few things they espouse, however, they happen to be more right about more important issues than the Democrats.
I have little hope for our country. I love this country, I love my freedoms, and it pains me to see these things slipping away every day. It's looking like I'll be moving out of the country, as we're turning into Socialist Europe, slowly and surely.
Sucks.

Man, i need to go get another abortion so i can eat the fetus later, of course this is after i gay marry a muslim communist in order to concuct a plan to turn all of America into an evil socialist nation who's only goal is to give everyone free everything and have loads of liberal sex.
Um... Dead serious.
Pulling out of Iraq prematurely: Bad idea.
Bigger government: Bad Idea.
Removing the Bush Tax Cuts: Bad Idea (what they should do is remove overhead, become more efficient, not ask for more money).
Universal Health Care: Bad Idea.
Shutting down Guantanimo(sp): Bad Idea.
No more waterboarding: Bad Idea.
All this crap about "the global climate crisis" is crap. No one knows for sure. Hell, I was watching the discovery channel, and ~the time of the dinosaurs, CO2 (the 2 should be small but idk how to make it that way) were roughly 4X what they were in the 70s. Um... the earth -did- kinda pull out of that. 30-40 years ago, the crisis was global COOLING and there was talk of spraying carbon black on the poles to FORCE them to melt. Carbonspiritualism is a joke, and always will be.
I mean hey, if you guys want a president who lies about Bosnian sniper fire, for NO reason, or a guy who interacts with terrorists/blatant racists, and makes 0 effort to rectify them or his relationship to them, by all means.... vote Democrat.
My only hope is that the faster our country hits rock bottom, the higher up we'll bounce.
Quick Edit cuz Kuya's post popped up: Sounds like a plan, I'll be the Muslim Commy if you want.
"prematurely" is 30 seconds, not 6 years.
Prematurely is anytime that's early. Whether we got there in the 1st place was a bad idea is relatively moot at this point (unless we're in a similar situation later down the road).
However, now what's prudent is whether pulling out before the job is done, or after is a better course of action. Personally, and with 1st hand accounts from the people running the operation, the people actually in the field, Iraqi civilians, and others all saying what we're doing is working, I'm inclined to let them keep doing their job. Letting politicians get too involved with a war is bad, see Vietnam and the Afghani-Russian dispute for examples.
Quick afterthought edit: Also I don't think we'll ever be "fully removed" from Iraq. We still have bases in Germany, Japan, etc, I don't see why we wouldn't forever keep a token force there regardless of the outcome, just as we have with other disputes.

Actually I was thinking about it, as getting 40% of my money taken out of my wages, so illegals can get free health care doesn't sound like my bag. Engineers/Doctors, professionals, get to basically live like kings over there.Originally Posted by Beckwin

aristocratic fantasy.
What do you consider premature?Pulling out of Iraq prematurely: Bad idea.
Ok.Bigger government: Bad Idea.
Why? From a superficial point of view, the tax cuts have not had any important effects. How in the world does tax cuts for the rich help the economy when they don't spend more?Removing the Bush Tax Cuts: Bad Idea
Why exactly? Unless your only opinions on universal health care are those two words.Universal Health Care: Bad Idea.
I don't particularly care, maybe someone else will chime in on this.Shutting down Guantanimo(sp): Bad Idea.
Eh, i'm not too sure on this issue. I'm not exactly that much of a moralist. No more waterboarding: Bad Idea.

Stop spending money on stupid shit, I agree there. Corporate hand outs should go away (we agree there yes?). The efficiency rating for the government is ridiculously low. I've heard statements all over the place, I've heard %s from 3 to 60, of the tax money that gets turned into actual actions. Even going the far end, of 60% taxes used to actually do things, that means 40% of the money we pay goes into beaurocracy(sp? no clue, I'm a bad speller and firefox isn't giving me anything but theocracy). Paying people we don't need, spending it on things we definitely don't need (like hookers). Non-profit organizations keep their efficiency with funds over 90%, or people don't donate, sadly that isn't an option with your taxes.
Flimsy intelligence sure, that's true. If you wanna say it was just a war for oil, sure, that's probably true too. If you believe the intelligence but was bad, but everyone believed it, then sure, it was the right move to make at that time. If like me you believe that's a crock of shit, and was concocted to give us an excuse to secure resources, then... really so what? A war to secure something our entire way of life is based on? You've seen the problems we're having from adding a buck and change at the pumps for a gallon, imagine if we were entirely cut off aside from what we get domestically? What kind of "American way of life" would we all be enjoying?
I'm very much against the patriot act, so we agree there.
My point about bigger government refers to a couple paragraphs up, where spending needs to drop, and so should taxes accordingly. I think I made my point there.
Submarines and the like? Shit, build em up. Having a mobile and relatively undetectable way of firing nukes when countries like Iran are showing only contempt for the UN's efforts to get them to stop sounds pretty smart to me. I think we can all thank the French for offering them the proper materials, when they are sitting on some of the most fertile oil fields on the planet. Why not burn that for energy? Should have offered them methods of burning said fossil fuels cleaner, not the one component they needed to manufacture nukes.
Health Care... the problem with health care begins with insurance companies. Because of the malpractice insurance prices, doctors have to raise their prices in order to make the same profit they were earlier. This leaves your Avg Joe kinda screwed. Is there a heath care problem in this country? Yes, I believe there is. However it doesn't make sense to solve the problem from the direction they are. By attacking the symptoms, they won't cure the problem, just create more. When car insurance became mandatory to drive, prices skyrocketed. According to me old man, his car insurance went from $30 a month, to over 100. By making health care mandatory as a tax, we're encouraging the same corrupt tendencies. Sounds a little like communism doesn't it?
Idk, detaining people under suspicion of terrorism, or knowledge there of sounds like an excellent idea to me. I'm unsure of your personal beliefs, but having your loved ones, pets, friends, or perhaps even yourself irradiated/poisoned/blown up seems like a bad way to run policies. Seeing as how we haven't been attacked on the scale of 9/11, or even close to it, I'm inclined to let them do their jobs.
Waterboarding, if done carefully with regard to the person's life (not so much well being, as they don't just bring random people in and start throwing water in their face, I would hope), seems like a good way of retrieving information. People who are confirmed to be in close dealings with terrorists, or are themselves terrorists, don't exactly deserve a steak dinner and a comfy conversation. These people want to kill us, what's so wrong with making them believe they are drowning for attempting to kill or assisting someone in attempting to kill anyone, much less fellow Americans?
Or, if you'd like to take the typical liberal high road, you're welcome to call me stupid/gay/fascist/evil.
Quick edit cuz I saw some things pop up: the live like kings comment was a little overboard, but really, I don't like being stolen from, just because it's my government doesn't make it ok. And the Bush Tax Cuts, according to most of the people I've encountered (not so much myself, poor college student without a job atm) believe in the "high tide floats all boats" theory. If everyone has more money, everyone can potentially spend more, which means more money in circulation. Imo, a lot of the current economic downfall we're experiencing is due to rising fuel prices, people can't spend as much, so less cash flow.
Broke ass white people... well, they should stop being broke. Universal health care is great for the poor, who take much more than they offer to the system, while everyone else has to pay for it? Robbing Peter to pay Paul is great for Paul, sucks for Peter. Once again, a bad solution that will cause many more problems than it solves.
edit: couple spelling errors.
Evidently, stuff like universal health care isn't meant to be the solution to the problem, but the fact is that they NEED assistence now. I'm not necesarily saying that unviersal health care is the first step to the inmediate situation, it's just an option, but your comment of them becoming "unbroke" isn't exactly an alternative.
ah it's so simple~!Broke ass white people... well, they should stop being broke.
Maybe not, but the alternatives are handing them money from the government, which has to come out of our pockets. If someone believes so strongly that their wealth should be redistributed to someone who is unable to afford it themselves, then donate the money to a non-profit organization, if nothing else, much more bang for your buck. We can't bail everyone out, because they are unable to afford the things people who are more wealthy can. Whether it be someone who inherited their money, or worked hard and earned it, theft is theft.Originally Posted by Kuya

In the short term the handout is nice, but in the longterm I think encouraging someone they don't need to work for the things they feel they deserve hurts us all more than making them strive.
People need to struggle, a helping hand is one thing, constantly giving them these things to only encourage laziness is entirely another.
Agree with me or not, you do see my point right?
And yes, I totally see where you're coming from. Allowing people to die due to lack of funds seems wrong, but I think it's a greater wrong to allow an entire generation an out that requires no effort. The beauty that is America is the belief that with some hard work, and some steadfast determination, anyone can make it. By decoupling this relationship, we're doing a vast disservice to not only ourselves, but every generation after.
