Considering you also have that 20acc from apoca, Askar should definitely be the choice of headgear. The crit bonus might be small, but it sure beats 3acc that will take you from 95% acc to 95% acc <_< imo though, Ace's looks a lot better than Askar.

With his gear, he's most definitely at the accuracy cap for meriting, which is where you can come up with an all around working setup that doesn't need tweaking depending on situation, mainly because there are 2? camps that people currently use for meriting when they are good enough. Colibri, and Nyzul Mamools.
Now, let's take the good camp of the two (Nyzul Mamools) and see what they have to offer:

Mamool Ja Stabler, cause it's the only mob I could find that people have figured out the stats for (Aside from one that has lower evasion, and then the Lurker, which is just 1 spawn, and the BRD will most likely throw a madrigal on the melees, since I assume the other melees don't have 20acc from a relic, which would put said relic holder on capped acc anyways).

Thanks to FFXI Calculator, even a being with an amoeba's intelligence, such as yourself, can check the estimated hit-rate with a certain setup.

Let's assume said relic holder is using the setup in his screenshot, going DRK/SAM and is currently using Sole Sushi +1 (While he does have a lot of accuracy in gear, it won't put him at more than an approximate 85% hitrate, which in this case is unacceptable, seeing as the entire argument is based on having capped accuracy. I'm also assuming he's not poor, but NQ sushi works just as well.) and that he's also currently having to use seigan, meaning no hasso acc boost.

Fighting the above named mob, will result in him having quite a bit more acc than actually needed to hit 95% hit-rate. It also means that he will have 95% hit-rate until the mob's evasion goes past 414, in which case we've already established it's only the case with the Lurker. (This is all assuming that he is not using a headgear piece at all btw.)

Now that we've come to the conclusion that he will be at 95% acc, even without one of the two helms, which is better? 4dex that will raise his critical hit rate slightly, or 7acc that will do absolutely nothing at all. nothing at all. nothing at all

Now do you see why I said that in his case Askar would be the preferred headgear of choice, over Ace's?

On to what you fail to realize: I TP in Ares's Cuirass when I'm on DRK/SAM (or when using sushi on DRK/other, otherwise using Askar body for TP and Ares's for WS, when using Carbonara to hit a lower hit build. But that still leaves me with 16acc and 11dex less than him on my body piece.) I also do not have an Apocalypse which gives him an additional 20acc (I use Perdu or Tred, depending on the build). So in MY case Ace's Helm would be better, and I want one. However I'm not up for going to Scorpion's Aery at the moment, just to have you spam search me to get ToD, and will definitely settle for Askar head since the difference is minimal.

I don't have the time to pick apart the entire post, but I will say this for now.

1) You will not hit 95% ACC in merit PTs. Athars(sp) won't with his setup. So Aces will always > Askar unless you're fighting weak mobs.

2) Sushi + 2Handers = Oh no you didn't.

3) Admitting you use Ares/Askar body on DRK is quite bad. You should be embarrassed.
