And I'm sorry if I think eating sushi when you're scoring a whopping 75ish % acc is valid in a merit pt. IDK there's just something about losing those extra 20% of your attacks that kinda makes me want to avoid it.

I guess if your only frame of reference in this game these days is meriting... some of us participate frequently in endgame activities... in these cases, the accuracy of ace's helm is actually beneficial... weird.

I like Ace's Helm too, but I'm curious, what new endgame did Square introduce to the game? As far as I can tell the only thing thats changed in 4 years have been the name of the mobs, not their level or the strategy to beat them.

You can participate a million times more than someone else, it doesn't matter if you're not participating in anything new. I'm not looking for a fight and I'm not looking to attack or flame you, but its a legitimate question.

If endgame isn't new, what justification does he have for saying the only frame of reference someone has is meriting?

It stands to reason that 4 year old strategies are widely known and perpetual engagement isn't a prerequisite for discussion, as experience from a day ago and a year ago would provide relatively the same information, the same result, the same conclusion.

Now, naturally, people may disagree, but that doesn't mean they're uninformed.

If endgame isn't new, and I don't see how anyone could suggest it was, then anyone with a couple of hours and the internet could read up on effective strategies and gear. They aren't closely guarded secrets, this isn't 2004, strategy is widely shared among the community.

The suggestion that the only people qualified to comment on gear are those who spend their time repeatedly doing whats already been done just doesn't hold up to logic really.

Eh, the title was a good attempt at being witty but it's rather weak. If you're a relic DRK, you shouldn't use either of these rings anyway, so to relate the two isn't a good analogy.

It's like saying, "Hey, I'm going to compare Optical Hat to a Voyager's Sallet for my relic SAM, even though I would hopefully be using neither of these."

Participation in endgame a year ago or a day ago would produce no dramatic change in opinion, strategy. Fafnir from a year ago has not changed from Fafnir from 18 hours ago. Tiamat still drops Fire Crystals.

Point being, Khelek was in Government, he fought all the major HNMs, he gained experience and knowledge. If endgame hasn't changed, then his opinions are no less valid than someone who killed the exact same HNM a week ago.

Now, maybe you disagree with his opinion, and thats natural, not all people agree on everything. However, trying to discredit him just because he didn't kill Fafnir 18 hours ago isn't an argument, its an insult, and unfounded. I want to be really clear, I'm not attacking you (Belkin), just giving my opinion. I think that what Hulk said was disrespectful and fundamentally untrue.

For merit it doesn't matter, you'll be capped on ACC as an Apoc DRK, if you're not, you're lying. For other shit, if you're sub SAM, if +4 DEX can break a tier, do it, if it doesn't, I wouldn't bother.
