Grand Theft Auto IV Release (Okay, now it's out)

Just got the game yesterday, the graphics wasn't exactly what I expected but it works for me. The worst thing about the game is the driving controls. I can't make a single turn without crashing into someone.. Guess I need to practice some more.

Funny thing is, in the first 10 minutes of the game, I saw the border at the bridge packed by cops and I parked my car and walked up to them to see what's up.. Minute I pass the blocks I got a 5 stars police warning and helicopters were chasing me.. ._.

I'm talking about really easy turns, like a diverge. Even I slow down, I'll run into the sidewalk a bit and maybe knock a light.

I been messing around with the cellphone calling up random cars and the Turismo is one the fastest cars you get,that shit goes really fast and is fun running from the cops in.

As for the bike on first island there isn't many but you can dial 625-555-0100 on the cellphone to call up a NRG-900.

For the wheelie achievement, go to the airport. At the big tower near where the runways intersect, there's a few cars and a motorcycle there. You can easily do the wheelie down the runway. Just get to max speed and hold back on the control stick til you get it. Also, this is a good place to get your Rolled Over and Walk Free achievements.

Well I found out that there are 200 pigeons that need slaughtering. Anyone found out the location of them? I found 2 so far. 1 near Brucie's and the other near the 2nd safehouse.

You can also just kind of walk around aimlessly until you see a bike (or jack a car and ram the first bike you see). If you're trying to do a long wheelie avoid the Hellfury though (the Harley Davidson lookalike), it's quite a bit harder to wheelie then the Sport Bikes.

The physics/driving in this game is far more enjoyable then the previous ones imo. Especially on the PSP GTAs, the cars left like they weighed 5 pounds in terms of how easy it was to send them flying with even the slightest bump. They actually have a very noticeable mass now (especially if you're on a bike going head on into one!)

For those having a hard time turning, use the camera to your advantage, if you turn the camera the same direction that you're turning the car it helps, or seems to anyway, gives a better angle. You still can't fly through them at full throttle like before, but it seems to be better than leaving the camera where it is.

I really like the new driving physics. But on the same note I'm a taxi whore. I take that shit everywhere. It's so much faster than driving everywhere when doing missions. I get so pissed when I'm in a more rural section of town and there's no taxis, and douche bag Roman has no damn cars to come pick me up.


I haven't gotten to far into the main story, but it seems a little repetitive already.

Well, just to say, the "lesser" cars always kind of handled a little slovenly, if you think about it.

If it's like, the Porsche/Ferrari/Lambo/etc lookalikes that you gotta slow to 40 mph, then I'm more worried...

Thats why he said it was also a good place to get your "Walk Free" achievement too, which is getting rid of a 4-star wanted level.

Spawning car's does not block any achievements, every other type of cheat does block certain achievements though

All the minor gripes i have heard here and there, this game is just fun as hell to me. The physics and AI of the city as a whole is impressive to me, and adds tons of lols.

I was walking up on one of the highways (don't ask) when a cop nearly ran me over chasing a guy. I ended up jumping off of the freeway over the rail. I actually heard the cop yelling at some guy up there to 'freeze', then i hear a car crash... and a body just comes flying down next to me... limp... it was hilarious.

Free Mode online with friends is one laugh after another too. The sheer magnitude of it just makes you a bit crazy. Got on last night, just myself and a good friend of mine and we didn't know what to do. So of course for a little while we were just playing chicken, ramming each other full speed and seeing who ended up living and who ended up flying out the windshield to his death. After that we realized that you can get in and ride as a passenger in another player's car... so he drove us to the airport while i shot out the windows at anything that moved.

Once we made it to the airport he gunned it full speed, aimed right at a '747' and bailed right before the car... and me as a passenger went hurtling into it. Then the helicopter chase began. Landed on the highest buildings we could find and then tried to see if we could push each other off... played some King Kong (Heli vs. Rocket Launcher on a skyscraper...) and just went nuts.

The game is fun as hell.
