Cops would chase other people in Vice City. The number of car thieves was astonishing. Pretty sure you could get the cops after people in San Andreas also, but you had to force the issue (i.e. get the AI to follow you ready to hit you and then duck behind a cop).

30 seconds later...

Another car comes down the highway, bam... fire... boom! This went on for THREE MINUTES... it was an endless fiery mess! I even called the Fire Dept. on my cell, but they just showed up and wandered around so i jacked the truck and started spraying water everywhere... managed to hit a cop with it so i bailed.

So funny...

I had something just like this, except 2 ambulances came to help the victims.....except each one DROVE INTO the fire. I just sat there watching the ambulances blow up, and more responding......then the fire department responded and blew up as well. I nearly fell off my bed laughing.

Finished it, I have to agree the last missions and ending were kinda disappointing.... Now working on 100%! I'm 89.75, and I've got 4 things left to do then I think I've got it.

I love how cops chase you if you drive drunk.. but if they do it then, why don't they do it when you're running a red light or bumping through 5 cars to get past them?

Also, if you think the story in GTA4 is bad, you're insane. (and i'm not just talking about Niko's personal story, I mean all the random characters you meet and work for in the process... LJ/Brucie/Manny are all funny, imo, and my progression tab says i'm at 25%.)

My only complaint w/drunk driving & police is that they go after you even if your in a parked car just sitting around. But drunk driving and trying to escape the policy is all sorts of epic when you reach 2 stars or more

So I've played about 20 minutes total since I picked my copy up from my friend on Saturday (thanks, finals), and I've already had about 4 "holyshitisthereareplaybutton" moments so far. The best being:

I jacked some random dudes car, but didn't start driving away immediately. The guy I jacked it from got back up and want to jack it back from me, but as he put his hand on the door, I stepped on the gas and he hung on to the car as I was driving away! So I'm ripping down the street laughing manically in real and he's hanging off the side of my car like a flag. Eventually the street goes into a gradual right turn and as I follow the road, inertia has him swing wide around so he's perpendicular in the middle of the other lane STILL hanging onto my car. At the end of the curved road there was an armored bank truck speeding towards me, and as I passed it he went face first into its grill.

God that was awesome... and I haven't even done anything yet.

I am standing in Times Square and I have full armor and about half health so I decide to run across the street to grab a hot dog. As you probably know, people in their cars in this game don't really stop for you in the middle of the road like they used to. I wait for traffic to slow down and I see a taxi stopped and decide to sprint across right behind the taxi. Right as I get behind the taxi some car comes speeding out of nowhere into the back of the taxi pinning me between the taxi and his car instantly killing me. I was so pissed yet so ecstatic at what had just happened.

EDIT: Don't get going too fast on a motorcycle. I just started fishtailing and then slammed into the side of a taxi and came off and rolled down the road to about half health. Just when I'm about to get up, some dick juggler runs over me and takes me out the rest of the way.

lol, I love how you can get tossed out of the vehicle's front. Last night I was driving down that little street next to where Brucie is, and it was really dark so I didn't really see anything (I kind of bumped into 90% of the street lights on my way there...) and hit a car. My guy flies out of the vehicle and lands about 50 feet away from the scene, but it was even darker than before... so i'm like wtf? and start running around.. eventually the lighting fixes itself and I find myself in the little warehouse where you fight a bunch of russians along with LJ. Apparently the door was open but yeah, it was fucking awesome lol.

Stunt ramps are absolutely ridiculous... One took me literally 45 mins to get "accepted", and I used every variation of car/motorcycle, and angle/speed I could think of. When it finally triggered, I still don't know what I did <_< Only 20 left...

lol, funniest thing so far just happened. I was drinking with LJ and I got in the back of a cab with him so I wouldn't have to drive drunk. I skip the scene and my screen is still waving like crazy at his apartment when we get out. I stumble to the arrow and it shows the completion part with Lj casually walking across the street to his house. My screen is zoomed in on him on an angle looking up from the street near his feet, but my screen is still wavy as hell. He says catch you later and a car slams into him outta nowhere lol. Couldn't see it comming or anything, just BAM. Luckily I had JUST stepped into the arrow and got the complete text cause he probably would have died or something.

I went to the stripclub w/Roman and walked onto the "pole" stage. Haha... all the bouncers ran after me as I darted out of the club and jumped into the car. Then I realized I left Roman behind and drove back to the club.. of w/a shootout ensued.. as I saved Roman's ass from crossfire between me and the bouncers. Now pissed at the bouncers, I walked back into the club and unloaded round after round into all the girls before the cops arrived and killed me before I could get back out

Yeah... some of them are being right pricks... can jumps be pricks? Hmmm, but yeah, FINALLY got a success on one that i couldn't see any other way to do it last night. Whee... i love trying as many as I can with the street bike. There was one that i had to switch to a car for (jump over the water) because the bike just couldn't get enough speed.

One more funny story that seemed like kind of a glitch...

I went out to a club (saw Ricky Gervais =P) and was coming back to drop Roman off. I was driving, no cab, and i pull up into the yellow arrow and he says "Thanks NB, that was fun, we should do that again some..." POW he punches me in the face! "That is mine man!"

I got punched right OUT of the car onto the ground, say something like "I am gonna kill you for dat!" then... Roman is gone and i get the little dun dun dun sound after raising the Like Level with a character.

Weirdest shit ever... guessing he was having some LCD induced flashback and thought i jacked his car or something. So funny.

rofl it happened to me too. It happens when the character can't exit on his side of the door, it's a silly little game glitch (although hilarious and unexpected..)

When I dropped him off, he was in the passenger's seat and I parked too close to a different car, so he had no way of getting out.

Hmm, I used the NRG 900 for both water jumps. There's a nice little store that has a ton of them, and I'd always go back and jack one every time.

All I've got left now are the 9 races, 15 more of Stevie's cars, and then the 200 pigeons (GamesRadar's in depth guide is supposed to be up today).
