Can't maintain connection

Ok, so my problem is this. A little while back, I kept losing connection on my vista laptop, but my xp PC was fine, and never lost connection. I did a bit of google searching, found someone saying it was the way vista reads DCHP packets, and how to edit the registery. Did that, worked fine until now.

Now I'm losing connection again. But not as constant. I got a lot of 4001 timeout errors about every half an hour. Then I did besieged this morning, about an hour long, and it was fine. As soon as that was over I went to xp, and was constantly DCing.

Reset the router/modem, hit repair in the network settings, it said it had renwed the ip address. I still DC'd constant though. I'm at my wits end with this, it makes me not even want to play.

Is your computers IP address changing each time you dc? (not the one on the internet your LAN one)
