Medium well is definitely yuck!
I prefer to keep my red meat limited so I rarely eat burgers anymore, but when I do they have to be medium.
Filet Mignon medium rare or rare is the way to go!
Anything with

In it. Pesto makes my world go 'round.
Also sushi, and Greek food.
Not that I'm that picky, I can find something I love from any culture.
AFK dinner.
Lots of people like their thai food, lol. A lot of the stuff people have posted in here I gotta try eventually, they look epic.
I've never had lobster. :<
Burgers = mediumOriginally Posted by Seditedi

In conclusion, I agree. You also fuck up a chef's rotation when you order anything "well", and they're more likely to spit on that burger or just nuke it in a microwave or serve you a burger that was cooked hours ago.
Pierogi
the only Polish thing I eat

Pretty much true, except I do my burgers medium-rare as well. As long as you let it rest for like 3 minutes before that first bite it's delish.Originally Posted by Norelco
And yeah, don't ever order a BIG well done steak. Usually when someone orders medium-well/well at the place I work at they will butterfly the steak to cut back the cooking time to make it done when the medium-rares are, however if someone gets the like 22 oz porterhouse (aka, big bone in it, can't butterfly) and we are super busy, we may just be tempted to finish cooking it in the fryer, and honestly, you'd never know.
Well shit i always order my burgers well done. Have i been doing it wrong?![]()
Most people get them well done for some reason, which isn't bad in a restaurant because it's a typical thing to do, but seriously just try one medium rare or medium. Better yet, watch the good eats episode and find the recipe for "Burger of the Gods." AMAZINGOriginally Posted by Sythe
I am turned off by the texture of rare red meat. My favorite steak is just a pinkish center. If it's a quality cut of meat it won't be any less tender or juicy. I guess I prefer medium but I order med well when I go out because I'd rather have them err on the overdone side than the underdone. And I don't trust burger meat- you can have a steak rare because pathogens only live on the outside of the meat. When you grind it up, inside is outside is inside, so not cooking it through means you're at risk. I know I know, the risk is minimal but it creeps me out so whatever.
Anyway, my burgers are:
1 lb ground beef (no less than 80% lean, keep that 90% shit for tacos or something. Fat is needed here)
1 medium sized shallot, diced super small
1 egg (just helps for binding
Worcestershire sauce
salt
pepper
beat the egg, drop in the meat, salt and pepper (as much as you prefer) and shallot. Mix with your hands briefly. Add some Worcestershire sauce, mix, repeat until it looks like it might not be able to hold more liquid. FOrm into patties, grill. The egg is really optional, but I find that they tend to hold together better, especially when you are trying to flip, and it doesn't seem to change the flavor/texture much.
Serve that with some of this- the most fantastic potato salad recipe ever:

I just made a good grilled chicken last night-
1c Vinegar
1/2c olive oil
1 1/2T poultry seasoning
1tsp salt
1tsp pepper
1 egg
mix that, let it marinate for around an hour or so, and grill. Again, egg is not required but it helps keep the marinade from separating while it's sitting. Kinda tangy and summery. Good stuff.
Or for the brat lovers- take a good amber/medium dark beer like...sam adams, killians, etc. Something with a good color. Dump about 3 or 4 into a pot, add about 1 whole onion, sliced into rings. bring to a boil, drop in some brats, let them boil for 10min or so, then take the brats out and finish them on the grill. Keep the pot with the onions and beer...when the brats are done, pop them in a bun, and put on some of the onions from the beer...oh god, so wonderful.

The "Burger of the Gods" as the poster above me mentioned.
I always get burgers well done. But steaks and what not I always get medium rare.

Most dishes look appetizing, will keep an eye for them next time we go out. The north american (i.e. usa) cuisine is missing here. I did a google for "typical american foods," and got; pizza, burritos, tacos, french fries, spaghetti, etc. that answered my question lol.
Chicken Marsala with bacon and basil sprinkled ontop, and perhaps some rice on the side or in the mix.
