Caution about a player to all servers

Hiya!,

So I had a member who recently quit the game (2 days ago.) Who claimed they were having to go work in Yugoslovia for a few years *(Strange... Yugoslavia no longer exists....) and wanted to donate his character to the linkshell... He provided me with his username and password which didn't work and said its the last time he will be playing. Prior to this he was willing to spend a ton of points on things that would seem useless to him... needless to say I believe he may have tried to just get out of the linkshell by faking that he is quiting the game to try and discourage people from talking bad about him (he wasn't very popular in the linkshell...)

He has a Haubergeon +1, Aces Helm, Ebow, Valor Surcoat, Blackbelt, Bahamut Zaghnal and various other items.

He has a extremely thick German accent and doesn't speak very well at all..

overall illidian is a good guy but I just wanted to warn anyone else out there if you see him just remember that he decieved a linkshell and im sure he will do it again. Other than that he is a nice guy.

I hope I am wrong about this but eh, kinda know that I'm right...

I never said he spent his points on sellable items...

I could careless of what he gotten from the linkshell I care about the deception. To say "hey im quiting" and then trying to switch servers and start over is just shady... The character is still on our server and he claims that his account was stolen ... Pretty amazing ... I'm sure he will move servers soon enough.

No I was confused as to the whole warning thread in general Dex. I mean if he hasn't actually done anything wrong except lie, who exactly has he hurt/impacted? You already said he's not liked in his own linkshell. If I was in the same situation, where I wasn't liked in my own LS/Server, I would probably abruptly migrate and try to start over too.

I agree it is pretty shady to lie about it though. If you want to leave, be a man about it and tell the truth. It's the people who come up with the over-elaborate lies that end up taking it in the ass on whatever server they move to ala Godraiden/Feiwong.

my bet is he sold/traded his account (which people do) then the new owner tryed to get what he could and move it to his own server

Deception isn't something that should be rewarded or encouraged.

I was thinking the same thing themanslayer but he did a lot of strange purchasing before he quit... example 12 Imp. Wootz Ingots just 2 days before quiting and so forth... He also mentioned to one of my leaders a few weeks ago about how he doesn't feel like he fits in and is considering leaving the linkshell. Eh, all in all I don't care... The account wont be welcome in my linkshell again but I didn't want him to deceive anyone else and get away with it.

Some of these player warning threads are pretty lame. The forums for player warning is more meant as warning for people who do serious stuff, like stealing gear/account/items, then jumping servers and changing names, or something. Not for butthurt/disgruntled/biased finger pointing.

This isnt the first thread that fits the description. And for christ's sake, put the player name in the thread title... instead of the retarded "warning to all servers", or "warning to bismark" bs. Warning: Player Name (Server), or something that actually makes sense. Making me click a thread just to see it has nothing to do with the server I am on, or a player I already know of, makes we want to stab some of u.

some of you are missing the point. if he did it once, there's a chance he will do it again. sure, he didn't ninja anything, but he did waste the time of that LS. the OP has plenty reason to post a caution about this player. i think other servers should know, that if they recruit this person, there's a chance they may decide to leave with no reason. most LS's are generally looking to recruit members who are going to stick around and be loyal, while this player in question didn't.

So what, now once you join a LS in this game you must stay with it for your entire FFXI career or you become a shady person? Get over yourself, some people don't like confrontation and use other excuses to avoid it. He used his points that he earned to receive items that he chose to spend them on, so what.

You guys need to get over yourselves with some of these player warnings, its becoming ridiculous.

Didn't steal, MPK, hack or anything else, no need to come on here and try to start drama over someone that is avoiding you guys for some reason, maybe you should look into your LS and find out why that might be.

I agree with keston i clicked to see some spicy drama and all I got was some guy saying he's quitting the game and that warrants a server warning, awesome, totaly wasted a dramam boner thanks.
