Or like in EvE where they sucker people out of isk/ships. "We require a down payment of 500m isk" and "Give us your ships and we can transport them to low sec safe". Idiots. Kind of hoping AoC will drive them away from eve.Originally Posted by MisterBob

Early first impressions of the game (comming from somebody who can play the game on high settings w/o any slowdown) around lv 18~:
I'll start w/ the negatives:
#The game has a ton of shit that should of been fixed in the beta and there is really no excuse for some of it. The talent tree's are not as descriptive as they should be & doing 5/5 on something doesn't always show any increase under the item menu, only after you activiate the ability do you see the increase. And sometimes it says "You learned combo/stance XXX" and nothing shows up under those menu options.
#There is no itemization. For my RNG.... some "light" armor is better than medium armor. And wth is w/ lv 12 items having the same stats as my lv 7 stuff.
#You can't examine ppl to see their gear.![]()

#A lot of the revolutionary stuff (spellweaving, ect ect...) doesnt start until lv 40.
#The multiple instances per zones is lame. Granted its nice to not need to camp vs 50 ppl for some mobs at the early stages since the game just came out (and granted this may be different after you leave the noob city). But Tortage (noob city you cant leave until 20+) is small so having 100+ ppl in the city would kinda suck since collission(?) detection prevents you from running through ppl. You can switch to the multiple instance copies at will (this feature is nice), but the ability to summon friends to your instance is broken and you can't auto summon them even though ur supposed to be able to (so have to do it manually). But in the bigger cities it will suck if they seem barren because only 100 (?) ppl are allowed in each instance copy.
#Healers.... everything is AoE... there are some dmg spells you can talent so they also heal ppl. But the pure healing spells are divided into different types of regen's (that stack), and ONE major heal spell thats on a 1 min CD (maybe you get high ranks of these spells later on so you can spam the different ranks, but if they all share the same CD it will be gay).
#Game is kinda clunky.
#UI needs work, but it's not as bad as ppl make it seem. The dev's just have EVERYTHING show on your mini map, so if your looking for a PT member or a quest objective its hard w/ 30 other dots on the mini map (so you have to pull up your bigger map)
#All these features can be fixed w/ time, just it feels like they got lazy for the launch...
Positives:
#The game is like an action MMO, and the combo system is really fun for my RNG. Nothing like shooting at mobs from afar, slowing them down... then switching to a sword when they get up close and decapitating groups of 3 people at once. Or stabbing them in the heart and having blood spray all over your screen. Fighting is fased paced and fun so far, im enjoying it.
#Game/music is very pretty/good and load times arent an issue for me (average 20-40 seconds) (though my rl friend I play w/doesnt have as good of a comp and it sometimes takes him 2-4~ minutes per load time).
#It feels like a WoW clone in a way, w/isnt a bad thing, but talents are a direct copy of WoW and so are a few other things.
#The game has potential, a lot of it. I never was there for WoW launch so I can't compare the two. After a year I can see this game doing much better when they balance jobs/gear/mobs/ raids more. Group dungeons and raids seem like they can be fun, but I hear they are zerg fests w/ little challenge at the moment (w/I'm sure will be fixed). If this game did focused beta testing (like WAR is doing where they beta test certain things at a time instead of letting ppl los ing the game to have fun and figure out bugs) it would have come out on launch much better then it is now. Im enjoying myself so far and I consider it addicting. It's not as addicting as WoW or FF were to me when I first started playing those games, but I'm much older now and don't play games nearly as much... so that may be a factor in my enjoyment lv also.
People saying that always pisses me off. Those talent tree setups existed in MMOs years before WoW was even in alpha.#It feels like a WoW clone in a way, w/isnt a bad thing, but talents are a direct copy of WoW and so are a few other things.
yea really, and i always viewed wow as taking that from diablo
A mmo launch that has bugs/glitches?!? do tell![]()

Game is fun though and I'm enjoying it when I get time to mess around and play.
I "personally" look past most of the bugs/glitches, ect... because I understand the game just launched. As I stated though... some of these issues should of been resolved before the game went live (aka: stats meaning nothing right now and having no effect on anything), but it's not a gripe to prevent my enjoyment. I mainly pointed out all those negatives because it's what most people will notice when they start the game right now.
If it wasn't created with WoW, then it wasn't cloning WoW.Originally Posted by Katlan
I played it all weekend and hit lvl 19. I must say... AoC is a lot of fun. Instant action PvP (no going to a certain area/npc to queue up for "battlegrounds". It can be done from anywhere and when you are done, it puts you right back where you were when you jumped into PvP) and linked Traders (worldwide auction house) really made me happy. I recently bought a new system, and the game is looking gorgeous in DX9 Maxed settings (30-40fps in non-instance, 60-80fps in instances). The only negative thing I have to say about AoC right now is that the clipping on certain gear needs to be fixed. I'm playing a Priest of Mitra atm.

Apparently most stats in this game are broken and do nothing haha. A few things work, like INT/WIS increase MP, but no stats actually increase your damage output (contrary to what the tooltips say).
I can't believe they released this game

That's pretty crazy, pretty huge for them, and while I'd say it's not directly a huge deal against WoW, the fact that AoC pretty much became the "small" non-threatening one a long time ago and is looking like it will have well over a million subscribers, kind of implies that if Warhammer is good enough (and makes it to market before WotLK) it could be completely devastating to WoW.
There's a hack out for AOC that lets you insta-80 and ban people. (Confirmed legit etc, not posting it here sorry)
They'd better fix that, like now. There's no auto-ban for it
I found it on youtube. Jesus christ how the hell can you hack an mmo like that?
So far I've gotten my Guardian to 34. Let me tell you, the hate system is far different from anything I've ever played. Only way for me to get hate is to use Combo Taunts a couple times while no one DPS's and keep at it until mob dies. There is no hate generator (Like a Provoke) so far. Only thing I have is Goad, but that's more of a hate reset for everyone.
I'd really like to see some fixes to the hate system. I believe tanking at this stage is going to be very very complex.
saw the vid too i just don't see how something like that couldt be detectedOriginally Posted by Royal
Id try it if i had the game. Prob has a trojan on it or something though.
The hack thats posted on youtube is just a program that phishes people's accounts, if you look at the profiles of the people who made them, you'd see people bitching about their account getting jacked. Also, apparently the people who got to 80 really fast exploited some repeatable quest
