    Wireless Modem, Connection Cable issues

I did do a search, and the topic i found didnt answer my question.

Whats happening is i plug the modem in (an AT&T Wireless Modem) and at seemingly random times it will tell me "Local Area Connection: A Network cable is unplugged"

Now the answer seems obvious doesn't it? Its not. All the cables are plugged in, and they stay plugged in. they're not loose, they're not old... The modem just enjoys doing this.

After about 1minute if i dont touch anything. it will reconnect, to the internet and fix itself. but its annoying losing connection while your in a Party or BCNM because your modem is on the fritz.

Anyone know how i can stop it, or at least know whats causing it :<

it just the wireless signal not strong enough, due to the modem suck, or you place your pc/laptop too far away from it. Just try to place your pc closer to it and see if you will getting the connection lost frequently or not

Aye, I actually have the Modem connected to the computer itself, and the modem is sitting on top of the Computer.
Im suspecting the Modem just absolutely Sucks. I was coming here first before i called Customer support cause they're godawful and have horrible service. but i guess it looks like i might have too :<

Also another piece of useful information. The Cord connecting to the Modem from Phoneline is like one of those 40Ft Cords. Its long drawn, could that be causing it?

Cause remember, it says "Cable is unplugged" then like 30 seconds later it starts working again...

just reread your problems again, just let me check with you that

is there anyone using any p2p programs, like torrent and emule?
    - if so, just turn it off for a days and see how is it.

it just seem like it is mostly the modem just restarting itself w/o any reason. You can go to start menu > run > type "cmd" > and type "/ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx(your modem/router ip address, which usually something like 192.168.x.1) /t"

the "/t" is a must have so it will keep ping your modem/router(the modem is modem+router together right?). if the time you lost your connection and you also unable to get any signal from the ping, then probably I will suggest you go to buy a better modem and a router.
