I thought that someone had found in the zone files that were there we matching small islands (Sharug Isle being one of them) that corresponded with these monuments?

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this theory yet...

When you speak to Sorrowful Sage in the Commissions Agency, you have the option to select which mission you participate in. Thing is, there's only one mission: Nyzul Isle Investigation.

Maybe SE will add more missions here, and they will be rank-oriented? For example, in order to unlock your Nyzul weapon, you have to have the key item from floor 100, the base item, and 9 or 10 key items from each other ranked mission that takes place in Nyzul. Its possible they could also make it so that you can only attempt one of these missions per conquest tally as well, or perhaps make them much harder than standard Assault missions.

This way, you need at least First Lieutenant rank (or Captain) which involves a fair amount of time invested into Assaults, as well as your own floor 100 disc, as well as completing the Sorrowful Sage rank missions. I'd say thats a fair mix of casual without being stupid-easy.

If that's your definition of "casual" you're on drugs, since all of that shit will most definitely require a party.

How does this have anything to do with what I just said? I just pointed out that you could fund a relic for 2-3 years without going balls out on it and still get it done. A casual player can fund a relic, it will just take him a lot longer.
The effort of the many is not equal to the benefit of the one, never has been until shield and horn, I think it rather nice that it won't take an army to get these and I think the benefit more proportionate to the over all effort of the few. Beg, borrow, steal, buy or work for the currency to upgrade a relic it still takes more then one person to do it otherwise Dynamis would be a one man thing. And we haven't even begun on the "it wasn't what I thought it would be" factor.
If you're refrerring to Dex's next relic, which will be Gun, it's self-funded, much like his Horn was. If that's not what you're refrerring to, then I have no clue and you're just rambling for the sake of rabmbling on?

Anyways, I hope these new relics have nothing to do with the Imp. wootz ingots >_>

I would consider 6 people or less "casual" when compared to what's required for dynamis relics.

Yes, I consider setting up a 6-man perma on a once-a-week basis to be pretty "Casual." If this is too strenuous for you, I think you've passed over to "really goddamn lazy."

Note, I said a mix of casual, but not stupid easy. If you can get these pure solo we'll see hundreds of them in a month.

I'd hope for something along the lines of "Enhances Elemental Magic" on the BLM one that's either an all-in-one HQ staff or maybe a +17-20% Dmg/Acc one. No idea what they'd do with the SMN one since Bahumat's Staff already exists. The WHM one looks really cool, so I don't think they need to make it useful.

Any bets as to whether or not the Nyzul relic will require sandworm fangs/shells (which might actually drop next update)? Or finally put these to use?

Re: 05/02/2008 The Myriad Arms of Balrahn

    Someone's gotta say it.

    Dynamis - Alzadaal
    Dynamis - Al Zahbi
    Dynamis - Halvung
    Dynamis - Mamook

    !!!

I've been saying this for months and I know it will prolly never happen but meh. There's not enough content in ToAU now to put into new dyna zones, </3

I seriously think a serious amount of

    Assault Points or
    Imperial Standing or
    Colibri Feathers

will be a major factor in the upgrades. (last one was for lulz)

Either way I'm actually more excited about the PLD Sword than the GKT, shit looks the sex!

My wonder is what were the new .DATs we were given in the update a couple of days ago? Any miners on it? I wanna see the stats on all the weaps tho before I start getting too giddy.

I was referring to your original response to someone else's post regarding sponsoring and making sure you have a ton of TH for 2-3 yrs of work by many rather then a few months work by a few. And this is not the thread to discuss the other.

I would define casual as something that you can do solo or on spur of the moment terms with minimal playtime. In other words, not having to schedule it. The minute you start scheduling things it stops being casual and starts being structured.

Note that I don't believe at all that getting these weapons will be casual. I think suggesting that is pretty dumb.

You have a pretty pitiful outlook on what's helpful and what's a luxury. At what point does something become beneficiary to the group? If you want to be realistic, Aegis isn't doing nearly as much for the group as it is for the tank and/or healers. Your tank is either tanking, or he's not - All Aegis is doing is making his job that much easier. Offensive relic weapons on the other hand, are having a direct impact on the speed of the fight, minuscule as they may be.

I suppose you're right about Gjallarhorn, but I personally have only ever looked at it as a low-man tool. The only way it would speed up a battle in a practical manner is through MP recovery, which is only as useful as the enmity level of your Black Mages.

Also, you're assuming a lot by saying that getting these will be casual. The only information you have is that these won't be as good as the RoZ relic weapons.

An Algol, a Hauteclaire, a Valkyrie's Fork, or a Futsuno Mitama aren't as good as their relic counterparts but getting any of these items is definitely not "casual".

Thats the thing, if these are assault missions, they don't have to be scheduled at all. And, if they are rank-dependent, you can just say "/l hey, anyone here have FL rank and can do a quick Nyzul run for my lv.9 weapon key item?"

Shouting, while it might bing on the mouth-breathers, would also work.

You said a once-a-week perma, which implies scheduling.
