Ok so I loaded FFXI onto my desktop friday night. Reactivate my account. Logged on and talked to some friends. Saturday morning I log on again did a little this and a little that. Logged off and tried to get Windower to work for 7-8 hours and finnaly give up after re installing POL 5 times. So last night I log on and go to my bane, Leaping Lizzy. I have been camping her since the second day I started playing FFXI. After 3 hours I kill and get drop. 1/48 I was stoked. But I had to log to go hang with some friends. Go to log on this morning and BAM. POL wont load for me. I reinstall it and it still wont load. So I re DL vista POL off the website and reinstall and still no work. I am litteraly thinking that LL hacked my computer just because after 3 years I finally got my boots.

Honestly WTF. Any Ideas? I have made sure all my permissions are set and have my UAC turned off.

not a thing. I logged off turned the comp off. Turned the comp on this morning and ran POL and got nothing. The POL screen came up but then the "POL is not responding, Windows is trying to find a fix" screen comes up. I Unistalled POL and re-installed it. This was working for me yesterday when I was trying to get windower to work. But today I just keep getting the same thing. I even deleted the Vista version of POL off my comp and then Up untill today I loved Vista. But this is just pissing me off.

OK did a complete wipe/re install and I am back up and running. But now I am afraid to turn off my computer. Talked to a friend and he mentioned something about Vista having memory leaking issues. WTF is that and could it be the cause. I am not to interested in wipeing my whole OS and starting over.

memory leaks would go away after a reboot though. therefor unless you are sending your computer to hibernate/standby mode and not really shutting it off, that shouldnt be a problem

Well turned off the comp last night and what you know. POL is all fucked up again. So uninstall/reinstall POL again and nothing works. So I turn my UAC back on after I totally wiped everything FFXI relatedoff my comp and what you know POL loads up. Now I just have to spend the next hour updating & re-loading everything.

I have changed my registry so I dont get the "PromptOnSecureDesktop".

What really pisses me off is last night I had windower 3.3 running and working like a champ.

It just doesnt make sense to me that it works and then you turn off the computer and then it doesnt work when you re-start the computer. The only thing I did when it restarted this morning was uninstall my infared HID since it automaticly loads everytime I start the comp and it seems to cockblock windower. IDK this is just getting very frustrating and the re-installs are getting old.

Also I run AVG and Spyware Terminator on this machine but when I am doing the downloading and installing I have them turned off. Could the be messing with something. IDK just shooting at straws right now.

are you turning it off, or sending it into hibernate?

there is a HUGE difference between the two

tell me do you see the BIOS screen when you turn your computer on?

Sry. It gets totally turned off. Unplugged from the wall and everything.

I got it working again today and didnt use windower so hoping that it will fire up come tomarrow. I really dont want to re-load everything again. It seems like it only quits working if I leave it off for a long period. Cause even last night I logged shut my computer off and then got back on and that was when I was using windower and everything was fine. But leaving it off overnight and bam no luck.
