Tier 0 HQ question...

So I tried to do a search, but guess I don't know right key words to find what I want. I'm not a regular on the crafting forums so please forgive me^^.

I read Aurik's post about the different tiers, and it seems my synth lies in the Tier 0 section, It's a lv99 synth and I'm currently lv100+2. My question is if I spend the time to get that last piece, will my chances of HQ go up? Or since its still at the 0-10 lvl mean it won't matter? I have enough mats for about 48 attempts. But this is an all or nothing shot, so debating if I should wait the 2-3 months to finish this last item(I hate alchemy gp ; ; ) or just start synthing.

Tier 0 is estimated at 1/64 HQ rate I believe and no matter what you do, it will always be a T0 synth at level 99. I'm pretty sure that level 95-96 is the highest you can get a a T1 synth.

Being a 100+3 alchemist, i'm trying to figure out what level 99 synth you are doing? Is it the Cursed Cuirras (dont have alchemy levels in front of me atm). Unless you are trying to do it for yourself, I would pass on that one and make the T1 synths instead if your concerned about money. If you are making it for yourself though, goodluck ^^

Yes, its the blood scale mail that I had planned to do. The other blood pieces are all ~1mil or lower. Maybe tier1's might be a better alternative. I'll give it some more thought <,<.

Dear me, Dear me.....IF someone wanted that blood scale mail, it would be cheaper to get a mule and powerlevel alchemy and synth themselves. Its a total townwear piece, especially in HQ form, that simply says "yeah, Aspid screwed us again so we threw the RDMs a bone and freelotted the crimson body". Its a waste of gil.

Know your market. It drops at best once every 4-7 days on your server. Then factor in how many linkshells will have someone who is an alchemist in their shell to make it for them. Then factor how many people are willing to blow the amount of gil that a T0 -1 cursed piece can fetch. You'll find the market is quite....thin.

For a good comparison, look at the zenith +1 pieces that are T0, and the relative price on those NQ vs. HQ. Cursed slacks, Cursed crown HQ versions are only about double the going rate usually, sometimes triple.

You're not going to catch a pretty penny for anything in that little demand. But if its for yourself, knock yourself out.....I know for many/most of us, crafting is not merely a method of gil gathering, but rather has many personal ingame goals attached to it. If this was one of yours, great. If you're doing this as a cash cow, find another pasture with a bigger highway next to it.

That would be my advice. T1 stuff only goes for around 800k to 1M on my server at this point in time, but it all adds up. Look at it this way. Since early August 2007, I've made 27 Cursed Cuisses-1, 5 Cursed Finger Gauntlets-1, 5 Cursed Greaves-1, 1 x lolCursed Mask-1. At 800k per piece (and most were going for way more than that), thats a relatively nice profit.

The cursed mask is a T0 synth btw, and it was in my bazaar for 3.5M for 2 months. I constantly was getting offers for around 1.5M which I finally settled on to move it through my inventory. The point is, at least on my server, only one of the items really sales extremely well. Given the numbers of each synth I've made, I'm sure you can figure out which one that is. For you, find the T1 that works for you and focus your efforts on that. The Cursed Cuirras-1 will almost indefinately never sell for the $5M price tag that it supposidely has.

Alchemy GP really isn't that bad but...for the love of god don't try for Blood anything that doesn't go on your hands. I guess if greaves or cuisses sell well on your server than by all means...but trying to sell that ridiculously rare -1 Mask or Mail is going to be extremely frustrating, unless you have a buyer lined up before you start trying to crank them out.

Really, the number of Tier 0 Alch synths that are even worthwhile is about nil. I'm not sure if more have been added since I've been away but...the only one I ever considered making a run for was a Devil Killer. Even that though, you wouldn't just make to make money, you'd want to set up a buyer first. I just wanted to use it for my own epeen/BLU fun purposes. That said though I did once do a successful T0 synth after I hit 100. Panacea + Plat Leaf HQ for like 3 extra plat nuggets, yayyy

Ya I can see why sticking with T1 synths would be more beneficial, and I don't mind changing routes. Thing is I have about 6 stacks of dragon blood, and a few more hearts sitting in my inventory taking up space. So to use these, I don't see anything else to use them on except Blood cursed pieces, or demon slayer? >.>;

From what I hear from blu's, its only good if you dual wield and do imps alot...that and it being a T0 like Araius said makes me not want to waste time on it.

What I would do is try to HQ a few T1 synth with your Dragon Blood and craft a T0 here and there. When I start crafting T1 cursed gear, I usually buy 1 mask and/or 1 mail if there's any available at the AH. You might be that lucky bastard who will HQ a T0 after a few tries. Then, it's gonna be big $$$$$. If you never give it a shot, you'll never HQ one.

And remember, sometimes, it's easy to HQ one than selling it! lol I got HQ hands and HQ legs for sale for a week at 50k to 100k less than the AH price and it didn't sell yet...
