    Comics

So after seeing Iron man I gained a interest to read the comics, but I can only find them in torrents which sucks. Looking for something similar to onemanga.com with viewing them online in that fashion. Any websites with that with Marvel and DC comics?

go download CDisplay and just torrent them. Way better than viewing them on a web page.

If they made a better product it wouldn't be floundering.

A ton of cash goes into manga and shit, so kids and adults obviously still like animated stories.

they had a lot of marvel on there but i think they took it down after getting threats from marvel.. some might still be listed though. they do have a lot of other things if you're interested (i highly recommend invincible)

oh and you should just skip the bullshit and read ULTIMATES and ultimate iron man if you wanna get in without all the baggage

    Re: Comics

freecomicbooks.org has zero marvel content now.

Torrent, people can give you links, or browsing rapidsearch /co/ would be the easiest. Bulk comic runs on ebay are pretty cheap too.

He means buy new issues off newstands, thats where publishers/street corner comic shops are making their money. Backissue stock sales are merely recouping over whats already been considered a total loss on the retail level.

    Re: Comics

Probably gonna regret it but I found a forum that constantly adds new uploaded comics its not really organized but is very reliable on updating whenever a new issue comes out. The site is slow on loading probably because its on a server in Asia or something (maybe).

    Re: Comics

If you actually visit one of the few remaining comic book shops doing business in your town, you're more than likely to find a decent owner who knows the current arc of most marvel/dc books and can make recommendations on new titles, or will give you his own 'must read' list of trade paperbacks. This is at least the case with my two local shops.

There's nothing wrong with buying trade paperbacks. The price is more reasonable than single issues and you're more satisfied by getting a story with a proper ending (in the case of a properly written arc).

That is pretty much how I feel. I gave up on Marvel and DC because it's like the editorial staff and board of directors write the comics, and never bothered with independent books because the characters have no nostalgic appeal to me.

Maybe I don't mention it enough, but Dan DiDio is the Whore of Babylon.

    Re: Comics

It feels more like they let the writers do their own thing as long as they follow a few rules (Marvel style, not a DC reader)

    1) You must have Wolverine in your comic. No exceptions.

    2) Whatever you do, prepare to throw it out the window next Crossover.

    3) Whatever happened in the last Crossover, prepare to throw it out the window in the next Crossover.

    4) If you are chosen to write a Crossover, congrutulations! Enjoy your paid vacation.

    5) Never, ever plan any story elements that take more than a year to reveal.
5a) If you do, it will be corrected with Rule #2.

An exceptional example would be the recent Messiah CompleX. The two best books (for my money) were X-Factor (still good) and New X-Men (completely shut down, scattered, and re-assigned to a new writer[s]). Both had exceptionally good developing storylines, under Peter David and the New team (Yost...something? I honestly forget their names, but they did good work), and when XoXmXpXlXeX came along, they basically threw Wolverine at the developing storylines with a growl, a snikt, and a hearty bub.

And then the new X-Force happened (see Marvel Rule #1). An interesting character (Laura) has officially become Wolvy Jr.
