Trust me, if it was 95%, everyone would have ran into it before. Still chalking it up to TS mobs and JA aggro.Originally Posted by buttson

99.99% - 1/10,000 chance of detection - over 50 people have noticed something, and with those odds, some people would have hit them once or twice over hundreds of casts, and the majority could easily have never hit them.
I'm gonna go with 100% effectiveness.
I bet if I were there with each one of those people on the occasion where their sneak/invis supposedly failed them, I would have been able to explain how/why it appeared that way.
I've had a couple of weird things happen to me, but after I sat there and thought for a second, I realized why I was getting my ass stomped.
I wasn't trying to say it's 95%, thats just the established precedent on spell & melee accuracy, etc. it's not unreasonable, in this context, to allow for that rate on the effectiveness of enhancing magic.Originally Posted by OctavoGilgamesh
personally, i'm still in the camp that its going to be due to player-error.
as for TS mobs & JA aggro, this has happened to some mates in sky (on weapons). so take from that what you will.
food for thought at least.
and no, i don't trust you.
Among the list of reasons you someone might think something saw through sneak/invis when it didn't, if you are /healing with sneak/invis on nearby someone in your party, and their sneak/invis drops and they aggro, very often the mob will go after you first due to the hate from resting, creating the impression that you aggroed when in fact your friend did. This is also how some people get the misconception that stuff "aggros to resting" (this and maybe they don't know that TW mobs will aggro by their normal rules to someone healing).
I've had the Uleguerand situation happen to me a few times as well. Sometimes, it seriously seems out of no where. Usually I run up the mountain was RDM with w.legs.
I can confirm that if you aggro a Taur, any type of Taur, 99% of the time, even if you Sleep II > Gravity > Sneak > Deodorize > Invisible > climb up to near Jorm, it'll still come for you, and link Kindred and Taurs, along the way. I've literally done that, dropped down, stayed at the place where you get the key item for Ugly Range ENM, gone to pee, and come back dead from a Taur or Kindred.
What i'd guess, in some cases is, aggroing or aggroing+Sleeping a Demon type mob, running off, but maybe if they come close to catching up to you (or in some case, you might not know you aggro'd somehow, some mobs might run at normal speed, and not be casters (i.e: aggroing a WAR Demon from maximum aggro range), and since you have aggro, even if your Sneak/Invis hasn't been broken, other mobs can tell?
I can safely say I'm not retarded. When the kindred summoner aggrod me, it was on the ramp right before jorm. I ran past with sneak and invis on, heard an aggro noise, turned around, and got smacked in the face by a summoner, followed by sneak/invis wearing off. I didn't miss a wearing message, I wasn't resting, a pt member didn't aggro it, etc.
It is FACT that either:
a) sneak/invis is not 100%
b) kindred summoners in ule range are glitched / pop TS sometimes
I have.. To agree with SMN mobs, i hadn't Considered it, But i do STRICLY remember going up to Ule alone to kill Snolls, and was beaten to pulp by a Kindred SMN, i remember its Elemental begining to cast a spell, then the Summoner ran up and beat me to death.
You think it could be the Elemental Wacking out? Considering its not happening to the other kindred...?
haha, witty. Your mother taught you well.Originally Posted by buttson
Ok, I'll add to my premise, no magic aggro mobs either.Originally Posted by buttson
There's a pretty long delay between when I gain the effect of sneak and when I get hit. People were talking and replying in LS chat. Also, stone II never landed on me. I can't outrun stone II and get sneak off. And I said in party chat somebody was training. Which is probably why stone II being casted is in my chat log.Originally Posted by Sifer
Also, lol@me thinking somebody else was going to die and then getting aggroed out of the blue. Go karma!
c) You aggroed a taurus earlier, aggro caught up to you in the way described on the last page, and you came to the conclusion that Kindred SMNs could pop true-sight and later forgot about the taurus aggro from below (If you had ever even known about it).Originally Posted by Demosthenes11
I guarantee you that you're never going to come across a "true sight" Kindred Summoner again if you remember to check behind you after you get past the DC tauruses (Which are the ones that people often don't notice aggroing due to the steep hillside).
Read my fucking post again before you accuse me of being naive.Originally Posted by Weeks
Maybe it's just me, but many "linking" mobs will aggro me as I pass by them, not necessarily when the initial aggroed mob passes. Perhaps mobs that follow this behavior ignore sneak/invis while you have aggro from something they can "link" with, and that's what the confusion with these kindred is. Unless you're saying it's absolutely impossible that you aggroed a taurus somewhere without noticing, but they seem to run slower than players so I think it would be could be commonly missed.Originally Posted by Demosthenes11
If the only kindred it's happening with are the summoners thou, it's probably just a bug with their elementals, but I can't imagine how/why it would cause them to be TS only sometimes.
Just to reiterate; what happened to Demos/Sirrobin happened to me, too. I got aggro from the Kindred Summoner only AND NOT THE FUCKING MOLECH/TAURUS either.![]()
And yet, now that such a big deal has been made out of watching for taurus aggro in this thread, it's never going to happen again.
Well, from reading the thread, it seems to be an issue with the kindred summoner rather than sneak/invis. could either be bugged or is actually true sight.
you have to consider that everyone that made themselves look like assholes arguing that game glitched or that sneak/invis are not 100% when they got aggro wont just vote 100%, they want it to look like it wasnt their fault.Originally Posted by Shuemue
also, 1/10,000 chance every milisecond means that you would most likely aggro if you stood next to a mob for longer than 1 second.
I also remember being aggroed in Uleguerand by a demon while having sneak/invis on. I think that on this case it's bug rather than something intended.Originally Posted by Byrd
In my experience Kindred will aggro/link if you have hate on another demon, even if it's slept somewhere way back - and minotaurs are demons. That might be the issue for some.
That said, I've had aggro from Kindred while walking up Uleguerand without any hate from anything, which leads me to second that there's something about that place.
I can confirm the Kindred SMN claims, I've been doing the Brothers ENM for years and occasionally I have been aggroed by it with Sneak/Invis up and no minotaurs around.
lol you're nuts if you think they're running a detection check that often. Most likely they check it once per mob, each time you enter aggro range and then again if you perform an action.Originally Posted by Sifer
