Yes, but you forget I did Dynamis in another shell for a long freaking time before I joined yours. So it actually evens right the fuck out, lol.Originally Posted by Saithorx
Dynamis is an awesome event, I love it
Dynamis is ok because it's different than other events, and I like these huge alliance battles
Dynamis lags like hell, mobs are dead when I engage them, but I still like it because the concept is good
Dynamis is cool, but this event is too long
Dynamis is cool, I wish the event was longer
Dynamis is cool because I can watch TV during the event
Dynamis would be cool if scaled for less people, because it actually lags and mobs are already dead when I engage
Dynamis sucks, I go there for the drops only
Dynamis sucks, I go there for the drops only and the drop rates sucks
Dynamis sucks, I go there because my ls forces me to go
Dynamis sucks, and it's a fucking long boring event
Dynamis sucks, and I can't do something else at the same time
Dynamis sucks, please give us a more interesting event to get the same drops

When you enter Dyna, they should provide an option to veto certain AF from the drop pool.
Enter Xarc:
-DRG
-SAM
-WAR
-WHM
-MNK
-BST
-RNG
So uh....just give us the good stuff already ;[. I love paying 1mil to enter xarc to get 1 WAR AF and 0 100's. Truly awesome.

SABNAAAAAAAAAAAAK!!!!
It'd be great, seeing how all mobs retain their drops except for their "NM drop", they could easily let them drop single currencies too, and lucky groups would get a 100 currency![]()
Now, what does everyone thing about Dynamis now with proposed upcoming changes?
Lowered glass price and increased rates in Outlands, /cheer. I want more DRK helms. /nod
Dynamis is lame because they rigged it and anyone with significant xarc experience can state beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is a dramatically raised drop rate on dragoon and bst nm's, far, far, far above all the others. That kind of shit is just plain dumb.
Sure, it's fun sometimes but it definitely drags every run in zilart zones and as an event altogether has been kind of dragging for a good 2 years now. Being 4/5 on a set with the missing piece being the most valuable for 3 years, and most certainly not for lack of runs, is just ridiculous.

Take the BST and DRG thing with a grain of salt basically.

Well your stats are obviously bs because Duelist Chapeau's don't exist.![]()
I've always had fairly good luck with Chapeau in all my linkshells.Originally Posted by Hirokei Kiaza
The same can't be said for Valor Surcoat or Assassin's Armlets, though. Those things have been much more rare.
DB's 14/88 on Surcoat is grossly high from what I had seen in my other linkshells. TG was probably about 3/60 when I left. @_@
They've gotten more now, though.
My old Dyna ls got 3 lolwar bodies in Xarc one day, and fuckall else. Every last one of us was thinking the same thing: "Fuck you, SE. Fuck you."
Too long and boring.
this happens on quetz already, jp's farming with like 9 people tops; gets hard to plan xarcs since there isn't really a shared JP/NA dynamis calendarOriginally Posted by Zilong

i still go, hard to say no to the possibility of free somewhat-irreplaceable items, although 4+ years experience and a highly limited inventory have started to dictate the pieces I even bother with
read: "Would I seriously ever use that?"
In the time we did dyna (almost 3 years) we had pieces never drop. I think we failed to get 2 Xarcabard pieces. Admittedly our shell predominantly did 1 night a week although for a while we did 2, farmiing cities for other crap. But even so... that's insane.
We had more people 6/6 on DRG than any other job.
I have to say I agree with a lot of the sentiments here. Dynamis could do well with some tweaks to make it a bit more palatable for the average player. That said I do really enjoy Dynamis, mostly because of my friends and being able to help others get the gear they want.
I think the thing that pisses me off the most is that in over two and a half years of doing Dynamis twice a week, our shell has only seen a minor handful of certain Xarc and Glacier relic drop (1 Duelist's Chapeau, 2 Wyrm Armets, 2 Summoner's Horns*), but we see other pieces drop with annoying regularity (I'm looking at you Monster Gloves). Hopefully SE's changes to Dynamis will come quickly, because they really do look promising.
One thing that really does bother me though is that I worry that SE's random number generator is not particularly random. Has anyone else noticed that during runs there is a tendency for a certain few relic to drop? One extreme example would be a Jeuno where we had 7 RNG hats drop! It's definitely not out of the ordinary for 2-3 of the same piece to, and then that same thing happening to more than one piece in a run. This may go a long way to explaining why certain relics appear to be more or less biased to dropping, depending on how the game chooses the relic from the drop table.
* - 2 years with no drops then two drops within a month of each other.
